Gear looks all like cheap Pakistani stuff. I think there was a few posts on them somewhere else on here.
Edit: SPX pads & gloves look more expensive and Indian made. Looks like Robinsons kit.
-
anyone used one of these bats - either recently or thirty years ago?
The prices are pretty cheap considering they use the top 5% of willow. Would like to see one in the flesh, i wonder whereabouts in devon they are located...... seems to be a batmaking hotspot at the moment.....redback, moorland, island crickit and now st.peter.
Agreed on the gear - have seen better and have seen worse.
-
Talisman had one, they don't look like English made bats. Toe guards and unfinished toes scream AS or CA to me.

i like the picture from the brian lara game on their homepage!, how had would it have been to re-create that pic with real people!?
-
20/20 pads look cool!
-
How many of them make the bats?
There certainly are a few brands poping up here, but not so many manafacturers.
-
ST Peter was being sold in Crediton, by a con man. I bought a bag of kit and the bat was Kashmir willow, pads and gloves were of the lowest quality, bag had a massive hole caused by use on a brand new bag!!
The original were made by Newbery and I should have some original stickers soon, when they are found!!
As far as I know only Redback makes in Devon.
-
It says Exmouth now.. and entirely handmade in the UK
-
Not the only brand claiming to make in the UK.
I heard SAF were outsourcing theirs to Peru, something about the child slave trade being strong there....
-
i know that island crickit definately make their bats in devon. not sure about the rest though....
-
thats nothing compared to what I heard about Talisman Cricket.... ;D
I shaped one yesterday whilst at a BBQ wasn't Peru though more like the next village
-
Island used to be Warsop about 2 or 3 years ago, don't think they ever made them themselves and I think it may be RNS doing them now. Although the latter may very well be wrong.
-
sorry to have put redback in the same sentence as some of those brands - perhaps i should have said companies instead on batmakers - but like everyone has commented, redback is the only manufacturer of bats in deepest darkest corners of middle earth.
-
Don't get me started on Talisman cricket..... they are a bunch of
Tom is right as usual about Island, but the RNS Larsons are very poor quality compared to the ones I get from AJ Sports. Had a a look at them earlier this year.
