As the subject says where is the best and cheapest bat to get an English made bat????
Reds
-
Looking for 2 answers or are you asking what best value?
-
blank bats have an offer on facebook at £168 quid i think
however as above the vantage bats we tested where very very good!
-
Arent Solitaire £125 for a Grade 1?
-
i guess it depends what your looking for? Best doesnt always mean cheapest unless you get lucky. do you have a budget in mind as what some class as cheap for a good bat isnt the same as others.
-
I should have re worded it really I ment more value for money and cheapest. For example can you get a custom made bat for £100 for example....

I got a custom made in that range from Red Ink and can easily say that John will make a rocket from a wood if you ask him so, such an artist he is with his wood work & ofcourse reasonable prices :)

Asad from UziSports might help you in this regard, his bats are hand selected by himself :)

I got an MSR from an e-bay auction last year. It is probably a grade 2 as got 2 knot s one at the back and one on the front but near the splice.
Both knots were covered by stickers. I altered it a little to make it lighter for my son and put some stickers on. The bat has a great ping (after a good knocking in).
The total cost including scuff sheet, shoo Goo, new grip, stickers and postage was 51.39.
The bat goes better than majority in his team.

Will agree here, MSR bat's are massive pingers, but you have to be prepared to spend a lot of time knocking them in, very good option if you're on a tight budget.

Simmy,
Can you use laminates in junior cricket? I was under the impression they were being banned.
Thanks

They are banned in all cricket but nobody really cares unless you play a particularly high standard. Do you play county cricket? If not then nobody will be too bothered if you use one in junior cricket!

Don't have the money, time or skills to do so D: Do laminates actually need to be knocked in?

Thanks for that. I was wondering as my son plays junior cricket. However I best not invest in one as knowing my luck he will get caught out and get banned. Some of these Junior parents are very competitive when it comes to their kids... Lol
Thanks again.

Out of the two I've made for simmy id say no they don't, however I'd say you need to spend the usual time on the edges and toe.

HOwever Laminates come with a heealth warning. You'd probably score more runs by spending £200 on coaching than buying a laminate.

3/4s of them probably won't even know what a laminate is mate, it's only when you get to county/county 2nds maybe premier at most that people would start getting funny about it tbh

I guess it depends where you I've to do want a choice is pick up and hat not.
I never added petrol to the cost but the cost of petrol now I do
-
cheap?
should it not read best value?
-
Cheapest? Ebay, without a doubt. I've had a couple of lovely old hunts bats off there. You just have to be careful.
-
Personally on a value for money scale, I like to pay Tony a visit at hunts county.
