Post by: Karan62 on January 19, 2013, 08:42:28 PM
Hawk are hosting a cricket show at shrewsbury school next weekend, thought some people who live around that area might be interested in the new gear, hawk have expanded the number of profiles they have and now have a range of different bat profiles, something they were lacking before,

heres the website for more details

What's the advantage of going to a show for just one brand, when you can just visit their shop?

Hello I was just wondering what you thought of hawk bats. Also how their performance compares to other bespoke brands, also what is your opinion on laminated cricket bats?

I've never owned one but have used a mates one and from what I can tell they are pretty good. They have a good rep down these parts anyway. Not many people have them though considering their rep but not quite sure why, probably just too far away for most people to bother about.

I havent used that many bats from other bespoke brands but the bats I have seen and owned have been superb, pick up performance, everything. I would recomend having a look.

as to what I think about laminate bats , I dont really have a strong opinion as some people do, but yes the performance lams I have seen have pretty monstrous rebound so hey they cant be to bad ;)

Do you think their top of their range is worth £290 ?

I've not seen them but I reckon their top of the range will be v good. Whether it's better than any other bat makers top of the range is going to subject to personal choice. Anyone with a Hawk will say they are the 'best', anyone with any other specialist bat makers bat will say 'no, these are the 'best'. Only way to know is use one yourself :)

I do not have enough experience with different brands to say but certainly the lower grade models are worth the dough
