Title: New Kook Player
Post by: safcdeans23 on January 20, 2013, 06:15:41 PM
new to the forum so thought I'd introduce myself with a little post to say hello!

just preparing for only my 3rd full season of club cricket (and 1st at my new club) and having spent my last 2 seasons and before using a friends Adidas Pellara I thought I'd invest in a decent bit of willow for this season and beyond. Now i was surprised when on xmas morning my cricket hating mother gave me a shiny new Kookaburra Kahuna 300. This is the 1st bat I've had from new so have been learning about knocking in, oiling, and general bat care. the bat is a 2.8/9 and feels alot different to my old Adidas but im starting to get used to the feel of it, just waiting for training now to get it in the nets!

dont know how to attach pictures so would be very grateful if someone could tell me how as I'd really like to get some other opinions etc on the bat as still a bit nervous with my limited cricket knowledge that I'll do something wrong!

Really pleased to meet everyone and look forward to sharing my cricket experiences with you and hearing about your own, any other questions feel free to ask.

Gary

Hi Gary

If you upload your photos to photobucket or somesuch you can then copy the url of your bat pics and past them between image tags and then they'll show on the forum.

Hope that helps. :)

and this is the bat about 5 minutes ago, thats after 3 coats and nearly 5 and a half hours knocking in, training starts early February so plenty of time to finish it off.

Welcome to the forum - it starts with just the one new bat, and before you realise it, you have a cupboard full of them!  ;)

Wish I had the enthusiasm to do 5 and a half hours knocking. I can't even manage an hour!

Especially as most Kook bats are pretty much pre-knocked in... I would say this one is ready to go :)

Your bat may well be ready to go. Give a go in a net and see if you're getting any seam marks off cricket balls. If you are knock it in a bit more.
