Post by: rajesh500 on January 29, 2013, 11:01:17 PM
What would be the best cricket ball in your opinion for both the formats. we play cricket on a mat and outfield is kinda thick. I am thining of providing sample to my league (26 teams). Any recommndation would be helpful.

Pink. Then you can use it with white or coloured clothing.

as a tradition :), we use Red (40 overs) and white (T-20) in our league. which brand balls are good? we use to get leather balls from pakistan which were decent but not very good. I am looking for recommendations?

I've used a pink ball in the nets over the past couple of months. People have generally liked facing it as it's brighter - and it's probably faced about 100 overs overall and it's still in great condition! Then again, I'm only bowling yardy darts, so no real pace on the ball - but still. It's a Readers Pink ball if anyone is interested.

We used white in our 40 over and pink in T-20...generally pink is much better for visibility...swings about the same as any other ball...

if you are looking for red check with i12breakfree, he sent me a couple and red looks good but seam is very thin on it...will be trying it out on saturday to see how it performs..

One of the lads at our club monad about me using a pink ball. He said he struggled to see it. I personally find the pink readers very good.

I've only played one game using a pink ball and found it really easy to see, so much so that I'm not sure it's entirely fair to the bowlers.

If it gets tossed up, coming out of lights indoors, then it's a bit difficult

We are trailing the Pink balls in Cyprus this year! It'll be interesting to see what it's like.
