Title: Australia vs West Indies series.
Post by: Wedge2408 on February 01, 2013, 04:22:08 AM
Looking like this may be a very short game.
I was hoping for something more competitive.

Yeh looks the Aussies won't need more than 10 overs...

It didn't take too long did it, the way maxwell was hitting them it was never going to be a long chase.

They should play a 20-20 now. It's only 2:30pm!

Haha, sounds like a reasonable idea.
It would be pretty funny to see everyone run back on for an exhibition game..

Yeh they need to give the crowd their money's worth...

Yeah, I would hate to be at a game that finishes that early. Dismal batting effort by the Windies.

I like that idea! There's been a few games this summer where the fans have been ripped off big time and that's not gonna help crowd numbers in the future. At least if you know you'll get at least a few good hours at the cricket you'll get more people rocking up.

today's game is shaping up to be a cracker...

super knock from watson and a useful catch from Pollard.
WI need  another 135 runs with 7 wickets and 15.0 overs remaining on a road...

It does, never seen one used in international cricket.

Entertaining game today. Shame I didn't watch it all.
Great knock from Watson!

WI do the hard work - once they are in sight of winning the game- throw it all away. Too many unneccessary shots - sometimes you have to work the singles and doubles and thats all.

4th ODI starting soon......Anyone watching?
George Bailey is not playing- is he injured or are the Aussie selectors on crack again?

Apparently Bailey is out with hamstring strain, starc has been rested.
Also west indies are missing a few players, gayle, roach and sarwan out.

Mitchell Johnson has started quite well.

Make that really well!! 3 wickets already.

Looks like this game is going to be a short one. West indies not looking good.

Great hundred by Pollard! Showed lots of patience and composure and has managed to drag the west indies to a somewhat respectable score

Disappointed with the West Indies as a whole. Their batsman just haven't shown enough application and chucked wickets away to regularly and the bowlers have leaked too many runs, best should have played at Perth. This Aussie team aren't that good at 50 over stuff as the whitewash v England last year proved. It appears the t20 success has been to the detriment of the longer forms for the Windies. Good tonne by Pollard and good wheels by Best.

Just saw Finch take a stump at the end of the game - Why on earth he though he deserved that I will never know.

Yeah, you would think he has used up all his chances.
Shame really, he is super talented but just doesn't seem to cut it at international level.

Did someone notice , Pollard has lost weight.  Also if you observe his innings he is playing with a cool head :D, not getting over aggressive with his shot selection .  Overall the Windies are getting better, hope they get some new talent and rule the game as the 70s team did.

The music's a bit 70's gentleman film but the catch is spectacular!!

Absolutely terrible effort by haddin. Dropping Gayle in the first over, on a regulation catch!!

Kind of makes me happy though. I'm not a fan of haddin and now we might actually get to see Gayle bat :)

Scratch that, Gayle is out to a good Coulter-nile catch...

I thought Sunil Narine bowled brilliantly. So hard to get runs off him.
Great batting from Johnson Charles in the last two games, 100 followed up with 57.
Great to see the West Indies finally get a win.
