Wow! Petty!
-
Typical childish attitude from the BCCI, must be embarrassing at times to be an Indian cricketer. Like having that awkward uncle that says all the wrong things......
-
brilliant, I want to some Ali Cook burning effigies next!
this is definitely the best way to become the no1 test team.
what would happen to the IPL if they did the same with some Aussie players!
-
The bcci reminds me more and more of the 'bad guys' from a kids sports movie every day!
-
They remind me of a child throwing a tantrum after they've lost a game.
-
another shot in the foot by their own governing body
if i was the BCCI i would be asking the ECB if they can have players into our County Championship like the old days.
runs in the sub-continent dont count for as much as outside Asia
Dravid,my fav Indian player, learnt how to play the moving ball over here and became a legend.
they need to find an exchange arrangement for players to improve Indian cricket
but they wont because everything and anything revolves around India
-
Wish the ECB would ban the Aussies from playing the 2013 Ashes
-
The ICC really need to give BCCI a good beating. They're claiming well too much power than they should be at the moment.
-
I totally agree with ppccopener.
Instead of banning foreign players playing on their tracks they should be sending their own players out into foreign conditions.
Im an Indian supporter but its all getting rather embarrassing now!

Yeah if only...
-
BCCI and Gavaskar has something in common .....
Reminds me of classical quote by commentator ( don't know his name ) " Sunil Gavaskar who was on strike now wants to go on strike " :D
Sunil Gavaskar walks off in Australia tour (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cngyQUMryN4#)
:)

Ridiculous by India. Not too much hassle for us to just go to Bangladesh or somewhere else instead and makes them look like fools (again!).
We should say they cannot train at our facilities when they play over here (for India or for counties), see how they like it...
-
Does anyone know the actual timing of this - I.e. have the bcci done this after the recent vote regarding DRS. Which only the ecb were bold enough to actually vote for...
Conspiracy theory's away!
-
sorry to go off topic but I read this article off the same website http://www.cricketcountry.com/cricket-articles/The-Sachin-Tendulkar-Ricky-Ponting-jugalbandi-in-IPL-2013-for-Mumbai-Indians/22712 (http://www.cricketcountry.com/cricket-articles/The-Sachin-Tendulkar-Ricky-Ponting-jugalbandi-in-IPL-2013-for-Mumbai-Indians/22712)
and well I think someone is rather excited.
-
This is shameful and embarrasing...just searched google and there are plenty of articles on this...disgusting.

I think its a good move by bcci. ecb didnt get clearance for the previous tour, so why should the bcci allow this one! If the tables were turned and the bcci sent a tour party to england without clearance from the ecb, everyone would be up in arms!
Dont agree with much the bcci does, but a pat on the back from me on this one

I disagree with you on this, just because someone does/ has done wrong does not mean that you are now allowed to as well.....
-
hahahahah what a joke. cant wait to batter them again next time.
-
do you really think its a good move for the future india players that want to better themselves by playing in foreign conditions to not have the opportunity? oh wait there arent any india players with any ambitions to better themselves abroad anyway. mug them off ecb, mug them all off.
bunch of clowns.
-
Sore losers!! Terrible and extremely petty actions by the bcci. They should be ashamed of themselves.
They have an over-inflated sense of importance and power I reckon. Should be pulled into line by the icc.
-
I don't see why they would need clearance to play in a different country anyway.
The only clearance should be at the place they are training/playing at to make sure it is free to use.
-
Just quickly reading thru the article, it seems the guys running the BCCI need psychiatric treatment. However, there is only one side of the story know.
Again, what goes on behind the scenes between these bodies and ICC meetings, never comes out in public in its entirety. Even what is shared with media is a very limited brief and some individual opinions which can be skilfully presented to make more interesting reading and increasing the website clicks.

Any overseas player coming to play county cricket needs a clearance from ECB as well. You just can't walk into a set-up and ask to be played. The usual process was that the native cricket board would make a request to the relevant board to allow its player to play for a county or if a county wanted to get a certain player they would have to get something from ECB and the player has to get a NOC from his native cricket board. If this was not the case, there would have been loads more of KolPack players.
Moreover, Home Office will not issue a visa if you said you just want to come to play cricket without any sponsor or club asking you to.
I think, if I were to set-up a formal cricket coaching/performance centre in the UK (like this GCA or the MRF Pace Foundation or NCA thing in India), for it to get the necessary funding and recognition, I would have to liaise with the local county cricket set-up who will then in turn request ECB to formalize its training program. Without this why would a cricket board bother to send its players to come to my centre for training.
-
Childish from the BCCI again!! and like a child, it will keep acting spoilt and pushing the boundaries to see what it can get away with until the parent, ICC in this case, steps in a disciplines the child.
-
Need both sides of story but it does sound really petty and futile as others mentioned there are other places than India that turn just digging a deeper hole and eventually other countries will have enough
-

Completely disagree, The ECB didn't get clearance for Finn to play in an academy game to prove his fitness (which they apologised for immediately), not as you suggest for the academy team to tour India, this was set up and agreed way in advance.
-
I think a good lesson for BCCI would be that the young upcoming and current international players bought in the IPL auction withdraw from the IPL and SA, Eng, Aus, NZ (at the minimum) ask their players not to make themselves available for alternative section.
I think IPL gives overseas players more experience of playing in Indian conditions and against better quality players than a mere training camp.
Clearly BCCI have got it wrong as to which end of the body they should eat from and excrete from.
-
One other thought on it apart from the cricketing side- surely it's better for the bcci and local clubs to have a touring party there? Extra revenue from the players/back room staff and all that sort of stuff is surely better in their pockets than a different country who will allow the players to train
-
next they'll be banning english fans from attending matches
-

Really?? You think a T20 mess about is in any way good training?? over the course of say 10 games most players I doubt face more than 60 balls.... 10 overs... Nah, I think you are over stating the IPL. It's a 20 over mess about. nothing more, nothing less.
-

Can almost hear the bcci in a Monty Python life of Brian voice:
"They're not the barmy army they're very naughty boys!"
-
what a joke it wasnt the ECB's fault they got clearence from the local board and assumed it was cleared with the BCCI so the BCCI should really take up the issue with them.
And as for DRS thats another topic entirely!
-
the ECB should ban all Indian Pros from our club cricket, see how they like that!
Abnd I thought the Aussies were sore losers!
-
Ridiculous! Unless there's something we don't know, BCCI shooting themselves in the foot .. both feet!
