Title: Kangroo and Sabre Cricket
Post by: mattw on February 08, 2013, 05:31:16 PM
I just wondered if there was anything linked between these two cricket companies? As their bat stickers are pretty much the same, just a different name?

I believe they're different stickers on the back, but just wondered if anyone knew anything?

There was a lot of talk about the branding on the lords trade show topic - everyone has their own opinions.

Sabre bats i believe are mainly made in India with there top model made by Tony at County, average stickers but not to expensive so maybe worth a punt one day. Never heard of the other one though ??? Not sure i would use a bat called kangaroo just asking for loads of one liners

Kangroo Cricket is owned by Nitin Mahajan (one of many Mahajans who own SM,BDM etc..) and has links in Australia,Sri Lanka and Singapore.
All of the Sabre equipment are made by CHAMP/M.J International (Mohit Jandial). Not too sure about the top end bat made by County.

As far as i know there is no connection between Kangroo and Sabre, just lazy sticker designing/copycat work.

Are Gray Nics and Lekka linked? A few years back their stickers were pretty similar.

Are these Mahajan brothers working on their own separate brands? The reason I ask is that BDM seems to have shrunk and SM seems to be more popular in India (Very sudden shift). Is it something intentional?

Gray Nics are the big giants of cricket world - I am sure Lekka would have gotten some "inspiration" from GN in this instance.
