Anybody bought from hawk recently if so how do you find the bats?

Not recent but a friend had one for the 2012 season and raves about it. Like most smaller brands you'll find it's more a case of what stickers you like more than the quality of the bat.

I've been in there twice in the last week to have a bat rebalanced and they did a wonderful job, picks up amazingly. I had a good poke around and it was a proper bat makers shed with some very nice looking sticks lined up around the place in various states of creation. I'd recommend going there in person if you're going to buy. You'll find the guys there are very accommodating and very straight shooters. Hard to go wrong really if you know what you're asking for. not to deliberately fuel the fires but for the sake of making this point apparently they used to make quite a lot of bats for other well known smaller brands, so they must be doing something right. Mike Hawk said they stopped when they got beaten in a magazine test by one of their own bats! But like procricketer says you have a wealth of choice when it comes to quality bats, its a matter of personal preference and depth of pockets!

absolutely think your right! I will be going in with a team mate who plays for the RAF recently got some discount so will get a bit of discount although I wold be willing to pay about £300 anyway for a grade 1 bat!

They seem to be slightly pressed harder than normal and tend to get better over time . Very popular in the Worcs and other leagues in the Midlands. The customer service post buying is excellent .

I think they'd press it exactly how you wanted it if you asked to be honest. If you said I want this to just last a season and go like a rocket from the outset that's exactly what they'd try and do for you. If you're buying one that's ready made its bound to be harder pressed, less returns for them that way!

If they are good enough for KP, Ian Bell and Stuart Broad I'm sure they'll be good bats!!

Any one know their prices on refurbishments?
Just aquired a hawk on the cheap!

I wonder if I walked in a said 'I want KP's test bat, exactly the same quality as you'd give him', how much it'd cost etc....
I'm getting a copy of Freddie's bat just because he's my favourite player. It looks a beast too!

He told me this a number of years ago about a brand that has been popular on here in the past. I have several team mates who use them and they all go like stink. Service is fantastic and will make it anyway you want when I asked.

One day maybe. I've got a Freddie Flintoff bat being done currently and as I prefer him I don't need no KP bat currently. Sod having Ian Bell's or Broads... Both in terrible form!

Again rate them highly, very honest guys and after care is fantastic. Had a pair of pads for 6 months and the stitching came undone on one of the pads, took them back and replaced with no questions asked. Mike was extremely apologetic.
Bat wise I've had two and both go really well. They have changed their grading names this year but the diff between the players and pro was the shape of the bat. Players has less meat at the top and bottom with more in the middle.
They do like their oil too, which isn't a problem to me. I did get sledges asking if I had used cooking oil on my bat, thankfully I scored that day and we hammered the opposition.
I can't see you being disappointed but just remember when you're waving a part made round the workshop, add an oz or two to it when you put grips and stickers on.

I thought Flintoffs were made by Rob Pack?

Funny how cricket rumours start the truth can sometimes be very boring indeed
The hawk bats I have seen seem to be less over boiled nowadays
Softs look very sareen but with bigger price tags.
They do look cracking bats I have only ever had one went well the times I used it
