Title: Mids Cricket Bats?
Post by: Wedge2408 on February 18, 2013, 12:53:03 PM
Hi everyone,
One of the internationals at our club has a few Mids bats for sale at decent prices and it got me thinking that an extra bat wouldn't be a bad idea.
I've checked out their website (http://www.midssports.com/main.html (http://www.midssports.com/main.html)) but I was just wondering if anyone has ever used or had any experience with any of their bats?
Any info or thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers.

From my limited experience of them (2 bats, one owned one borrowed) they seem to perform really well. The finishing isn't a strong point and the handles can be very iffy (like most bats from that part of the world) but if the price is good then you could do a lot worse. Don't expect great longevity though. Both bats I used were very dry and the one I owned I got a season out of then it died.

Obviously this is only based on 2 bats but hope this helps....

I see what you mean about the handles. When I picked up one of the bats, after training last week, it did feel rather thin.

Anyway, thanks for the info mate. I'll take it into consideration.

Procricket has had a few mids so I'm sure when he is online he will be able to offer some advice.

Stand by for Dave Procricket to get very excited, he loves his Mids!

I've got one of his old ones, and it's very, very pingy. Yes, the handles feel thin, but I think they're a bit like Maliks - if you get a good one they go like the clappers, for very reasonable money.

Where'd you play Wedgie?

I imported a few for my club and the boys love them.  Yes the handles are a bit thin but with an extra bit of fibre glass tape and a couple of grips they seem to go really well.  A good tidy up post season is reccommended.

Indeed I have and another one possibly 2 comin when my mate returns in April
There top performers no doubt about that handles are on the thinner side the one of the 2 I had had a extra thin handle but there of decent enough build.

Much underrated bats and pound for pound as good as any brand uk or Asian made

The one Bruce has is a right bunter cricket bat it is special and it is bi for it weight a overused term but his is good

There are people on this forum who just like to look at bats this is not one of them kind of bats this is not one of them there great bats to use mate
