It seems like only yesterday that I signed up to read the topic in the pavilion about the credit card scammers who stung us. Here we are nearly 1000 posts (of absolute guff ;) ) later and everyone has made us feel most welcome.

As a thank you for putting up with my ramblings and accepting us into the community with open arms, we are running the following comp:

The Prize

GM Flare Original SH - 2'10 with a pickup index of 1

7/8 Ruler straight, evenly spaced grains, no blemishes. This bat is absolutely beautiful.

How To Enter

To enter all you have to do is reply to this topic stating that you would like to win the prize. Any additional statements of love and adoration for Vitas Cricket will ~~absolutely be listened to and may ensure your name is conveniently placed in prime position in the hat for the draw~~ be totally ignored ;)

Not the most inventive competition ever, but then again, it's simple to enter and the prize is real and genuinely desirable.

Hopefully you've all found some of my insights/thoughts into the cricket world, and my contribution to the forum useful. We aren't here just to flog gear to you regardless, we want to be seen as useful, friendly, approachable members of the forum.

Anyway, best of luck to those who enter.

Closing date for entries is 18:00 on Friday 8th of March, draw will be made that evening. The bat will be dispatched* to the winner on Monday 11th of March.

I've come across a couple of 'light' Flares recently. Light in the sense that the pickup index was 1, the dead weights were both 2'12 and my jaw dropped.

The normal Flare on the whole is quite a light bat in my opinion, it's the GM+ Flares that are big old lumps.

We have beer. And SkyGo on the laptop means plenty of cricket. Looking into getting 'proper' sky installed soon, not sure on costs though.

Thanks again to Jake, who has confirmed my winnings and said the bat will be sent Monday.

Looking forward to using the bat. A GM isn't really a bat I would buy (because of this forum now) or have ever used before, but really want to compare it to my BB.

This means I do now have a larger collection of bats than I anticipated a few months ago. Got a BB, SS, Jester, 2 net bats and the Flare on the way.

Gonna have some trouble choosing what bat to use this season...all thanks to this forum!
