Title: Dog Wax
Post by: Bulldog Cricket on March 02, 2013, 10:18:43 PM
We now have tins of dog wax available. Same sort of stuff as the other bst wax on the market.

These small trial tins are £4.75 inc delivery. Enough to do 2 bats.

if possible can you please give some details on  what is the right way to apply it
So if one waxes the bat , oiling is not required ?

That's correct. The wax is a solid form of linseed oil. Its easier to apply than oil and you are much less likely to over oil the bat using this wax. It seals the willow in the same was as oil would do. You apply it with a soft cloth, rub it in, leave for a few minutes and then buff off to leave a produce a lovely polished shine.

again without wishing to offend, but it seems a very steep for only 2 bats? considering the Salix wax is 7 quid for a tub that last for more than 5 bats?

The salix stuff I had lasted for a good few more than 5, I guess if you scuff your bats that covers most of the face with sticker/scuff so if your only going a bit of the back and edges it should last longer

Yes 15ml tin. I guess it could last 3 - 4 bats, depending if you just wax the face or all over and how much you apply. I was being cautious by saying 2 bats.

the 15ml tub is £6.95 so think the Bulldog Dog Wax at £4.75 is good value.

Would you like some Leachy ?

fair point 3.50 and 4.75 not too big a difference, my mistake. Kieron, no thanks mate, I have loads of bat wax already, I was just playing devils advocate really, apologies...

Wilkie wasn't being petty. Was just stating a fact, and at £4.75 posted, Romida would have to sell their equivalent at 75p to match this. Keiron, unfortunately living up north, we don't have the number of independent cricket brands that so many of the forum users seem to have better geographical access to, and Romida is only 20 minutes away so postage wouldn't be an issue. I wasn't, in anyway trying to 'diss' your offer, but aren't people allowed consumer advice?
