Title: Hand-Picked Willostix Spitfire Classics with customized laser engraving...
Post by: ItsJustCricket on March 07, 2013, 01:47:46 PM
Sound good?

Going to hand-pick our new batch of Spitfire Classics next week.  Anyone interested can specify how many grains they want, heartwood/no heartwood and the exact weight, and we should be able to match all these requests.  As if that wasn't good enough, for any pre-order we take, we can also get Willostix to laser engrave your initials into the edge, for a small additional cost...

Please PM if interested!  :)

Cheers,
Paul

What has happened to Willostix? It all seems very quiet from their corner of the world - the website hasn't been updated, nowt on twatter or faceplant - are they very busy elsewhere?

Cracking news, thanks for letting me know. I'm interested in seeing what the Spitfire gloves look like as I love the branding on the bat (the new Lancaster looks good too)

Glad there still going. Hopefully they sell more than they give away to players this season. Lovely guys the Andy's but there business model has always been a bit odd in my view.

Not really my place to say but I know they "sponsor" some pretty high profile in the Kent prem which gets them decent exposure. Whether that translates I don't know, I could ask them

Bat production seems to be a bit delayed.  No real surprise there! They are still going strong, though, just tend to go quiet every so often, which is their prerogative I guess!

Can't wait to visit them to pick out a load more Spitfires!!

I know they "sponsor" pretty much all of Hartley CC lol. No need to ask mate it's there choice but seems a shame as I think if kind of dilutes the brand when he was turning up basically giving kit to all and sundry for a promise of payment sometime in future. As I brand I really like Willostix, I think there marketing and design of gear is first class. Bats were awful in past when they were coming from Asia but that has been sorted , or at least top end has so I hope they do well over the coming years.

I suppose when there bats are fully handmade there is going to be a few delays unfortunate I know but not like there getting them from a container that arrives on said day or whacking hundreds through a CNC machine though. Just my view!!

Anyone interested I picking up some Willostix kit or just wanted to have a look at the kit they are now located at Kent Cricket Direct near Tunbridge Wells. It definitely worth going down there if you can as they have some cracking bats in their range.

Can these still be requested?

I'd like one with 39 grains, 17mm of heartwood on the inside edge and no concaving.
Not fussed about edge size, anything between 45 and 50mm is fine and weight 2lb7 dead (fully dressed including 4 grips) please? P.s, LBLH

These were always quite nice looking bats tbf, I'd love a special custom one to my requirements - 2lb10 low middle, something like that?

If you give Andy a call and tell him what you're looking for and he will show you a selection of what he's got for you to choose, I've done this several times with Andy and all the stuff is top notch

I think they may possibly start trading with retailers again in the future, I hope they do they are great guys running it and the products are fantastic. Been using them for 6 years and haven't let me down

Well KCD aren't really a retailer given that Paul who runs it is one of the owners of willostix
