Saw on Twitter today that AllRounder in Leeds will be stocking New Balance stuff soon. Would be good to have a look and see what the bats and actually like.

Pretty uninspiring, a shame as I really like Dale Steyns spikes.
-
Paul said they were coming to see him soon. We've heard no word from them. Would be happy to host them and see the gear, but I can't really see it selling that well, shoes aside.
-
It's all SS stuff isn't it?
-
Uh oh those softs looks rank! Don't like any of them. The NB stickers are quite good and I'm also loving the bags though!
actually I like the front sticker but the one's on the back are horrible
-
the stickers are awful!!
-
Not a fan. Keeping gear looks horrid and very dated. Gloves too. Bats stickers look ok, dont know if its the colour but reminds me oh honda hero stickers
-
reminds me of Slazenger which isn't a good thing as I associate them with cheap crap.
-
Wy don't they sell the kit trott actually wears that not too bad but if there selling what the picture shows it looks cheap and tacky
-
316 quid for the top of the range bat too, seriously overpriced
-
Not a lot of effort has gone in to their range , don't really see them selling loads either
-

But what if it made by the best batmakers in either the uk or nz like another brand
Then it is a bargain right
-
I wonder who makes their gear. It doesnt look like SS

That catalogue is from the South African range. I'm not sure they would change the stuff for the UK market, but you never know, the UK stuff could be much better.
I was really excited when I heard they were getting into cricket footwear, as my favourite ever pair of running shoes were NB. I love Dale Steyns deep green bowling shoes, but I really despise this red and white theme.
-
Again, I'm surprised as a new brand that they don't ensure that their kit is as good a quality (which it maybe) but cheaper than it's competition. Yes your margins take a hit for a few years BUT you try and get volume sales and get it so that all the kids use the kit and all the 'average' cricketers (by average I mean non geeks like us :) ). Then after a few years you can slowly adjust your price once you have a good market share etc. People will then know your name (again, mr average) which means continued sales.

well presuming its an Indian made bat then yes its highy overpriced
even if it is made by the best in the uk I'd say its slightly over priced. Well to us forum members that is because we have so many options available when buying a UK made bat
even most of the Hammer bats are cheaper than the top of the range NB bat
-
The South African connection means my friends at B&S may know more about the origins of the bats and softs. Heck, B&S might even make the bats, although I'm sure they would have told me that!
-
It would appear that Trott's pads and gloves will not be on sale to the general public.
-
Just had a guy from NB visit me in the shop. Their bats are made in India, by Sondhi's, just like Slazenger. Apparently the softs are made by the same people too...
Was quite flattered to be approached by them as they're only going to be stocking 8 shops across the country this year, so they've been very picky!
The kit is decent - not amazing, but OK - but I am interested more for other reasons...
-
Nice one Paul. Making waves them mate!
What's your reasoning? Be interested to hear if you can announce it on here....

Will their shoes be available?

They just have a very clean and simple range this year - literally just one bat, one pad and one glove - and the price points of the softs are very good. Bats a little pricey, but I still feel they'll sell OK, especially if Trott keeps up his good form...
-
Keeping gear mate?

Keeping gear mate?
That will follow in 2014, along with the footwear and more of everything else...
-
Ditto
Will their shoes be available?
shoes are available from Oct-Nov onwards...
for this season they just have bat, pads and gloves - that's it...
-
Any idea what the pricing was for their softs?

The gloves are £55 RRP (with pittards) and the pads are £80ish RRP...
-
Shame about the shoes would liked to have seen what was available. Will have to wait for November I guess.
-
Aren't they a little late into the market for this season? Do things pick up towards outdoor colts sessions starting up?

The rush is on right now. Despite the weather. I was only really looking forward to the shoes to be honest. Although I'm a fan of Sondhis/Slazengers build quality, their gloves are lovely.

Bit steep

The gear looks very average and on the steep side.
£82.99 for a set of Ambi pads...

My eyes!!! :( Don't like them at all... I don't know how they can justify that kind of a price!
-
Crikey! I was thinking of pricing them around the £325 mark for when we get them in. I agree, £355 is a bit high for these bats...
