Watching the SA v PAK ODI I find myself having to watch it on mute so that I don't have to put with Karman Akmal's inane drivel from behind the stumps. Added to that he couldn't catch a cold...
I was wondering did anyone else have an international cricketer the just don't like!
-
Broad and Swann
-
reasons?
-
I'm Aussie.. I can dislike any pommie I want ;) :D
I just find them both come across a little arrogant.. Just my opinion though.. Broad more so than Swann..
-
Broad and Swann
Agree with Number4 on Broad. Cant' stand the guy, complete Ego.. Which is fine if you have the talent to back it up but he doesn't.
-
I'm Aussie..
you could have finished your post there ;)
-
Reallhy surprised that no-one came out and said Bell...

I don't think anyone 'dislikes' Bell in that way.
-
Broad for me. Apparently he is a nice guy but he is so overrated it drives me mad

Exactly the Same for me, love to know what he actually says tho.
-
Either of the Akmal brothers, just loony ugly and useless and Kamran in my opinion is a cheat who should not be allowed anywhere near a cricket ground,
Kallis, just winds me up for some unknown reason and Ravi Bopara for not being as good as he hold be and wasting talent that any of us on here would give both arms to have.
-
Not players but the NSP from Australia. Cringeworthy.

I don't have much time for Broad myself but NO Australian sportsman/fan has a right to accuse ANYONE else of being arrogant! ;)

actually I was tempted, but then the chance to bag the Aussies came up! ;)
-

We were never arrogant... We just new we were good ;) :D
-
M S Dhoni and his batting 'technique' in particular amougst other minor issues Can't keep wicket etc >:(
-
Broad, dernbach, ponting, harbhajan, aamir sohail, javed miandad....all quite arrogant in my opinion

I forgot about Dernbach.. He's worse than Broad. I just don't think about him as he's not a test player.
-
Tsotsobe. Over rated, lazy and poor fielder. Saw some very lack luster performances while at Essex.
-
We were never arrogant... We just new we were good ;) :D
Whats Nathan Lyon's excuse then?
-
Whats Nathan Lyon's excuse then?
He did say
We WERE never arrogant... We just knew we WERE good
Doubt he's got a defence for the current lot though, Lyon included :)

Fair point.
Although with the recent dropping of Lyon he could be classed as a 'were'
On a side note i love Kamran Akmal, he always gives me that hope that i could still make it if he can. Hes like the Nathan Lyon to spinners!
-
Kohli.
-
Kohli because he is the most arrogant pr*ck i have ever seen, yes he has the talent but he's young and arrogant towards senior players. Cant stand him
-
Kohli.
another good shout. The guy could be really good though, it is a shame he spoils it by being a complete ....................................
-
For me I'd say Mitchell Johnson another Aussie.......
-
Owais Shah. I've never heard anyone not say he's an absolute c**k including guys who have played with him! Shame, cause when he bats well he's great to watch.
-
As an England fan I love Mitchell Johnson, just because of his song
"He bowls to the left,
he bowls to the right,
That Mitchell Johnson
His bowling is *word that means not very good*"
Yeah I like Mitch. On his day he's awesome to watch with bat and/or ball. Yet on the more common days he's awesome to watch as he's so wayward.. and his Barmy Army song is awesome!! Plus, he'll always be remembered for his chirp at Jimmy... 'Not getting any wickets'.... boom... wicket... EPIC FAIL Mitch!
love this thread
-
Johan Botha, just don't like his face.
-
Herschelle Gibbs.
-
Nathan Lyon is right up there and this is coming from an Aussie. There's an interview on cricinfo about him being dropped. And he kept repeating how they must be coming out alright if he bowled Tendulkar through the gate in India. Seriously is he just blocking out the rubbish he tosses out every other ball??? Serious tossbag...
-

I might be able to agree with that

I've met the guy a fair few times and he's a good laugh! First time I met him was at a Hampstead net, he watched me bat and we had a laugh after at my faults.
I also played with Paul Weekes who suggests he is a decent bloke.
-
I think I have a fair list of players I dislike! I think Broad stands out in my list, as he doesn't really have anything to back up his arrogance.
I am not a big fan of Kohli, but I had a chat to my friend about it, and he says he isn't as arrogant as he seems, he gets up early in the morning to train with Tendulkar every day, and I don't think anyone can disagree that he is an excellent batsman.
Sreesanth is also another one, but I can't help but feel that without his antics on the field, cricket would be a little less exciting. :D
-
Can we rename this the Stuart Broad bashing thread... 8)
-
Mitchell Starc. Most over rated bowler in Australia.
-
Graeme Smith, he just comes across as very smug.
Oh and of course Stuart Broad.
-
Not current, But Stuart Law. Look at his record and how many times he played for Aus. Guy is a c**k.
-
Salman Butt - for involving a 17 year old lad in his criminal activities and depriving the cricketing world from watching him bowl at the speed of light
-
Marlon Samuels - He scores a few hundreds and suddenly thinks he's god. A good player but not a great one and certainly not good enough to justify his massive ego.
-
Maxwell comes across as a bit of a cocky **** sometimes but he performed well for Hampshire so I won't moan that much :D.

Agree with that big time!

Anyone who gives themself the nickname 'The Big Show' and calls themself the x factor of the aussie team with the record that he has obviously has a massive ego.
I can't stand Dave Warner, gives out the sledging and aggression big time but can't take it.
-
Dale Steyn.
Because he is so good.
-
Dale Steyn.
Because he is so good.
I'm the opposite. Massive fan of players like Steyn. Patto for Australia too. Nothing better in cricket than an angry quick bowler I reckon!
-

How can I forget this one??? Right up there with Lyon in terms of not having the talent to back up the arrogance.
I think we'll get to a team of XI in no time...
-
I dislike Alistair Cook, myself being an Aussie in the ashes tour he made alot of runs and didnt make many runs straight down the ground (Nearly none!) which I don't like in a batsmen but yes he is a good batsmen
-

Watson, the epitome of arrogance.
-
This would be my XI for this thread
Aaron Finch
David Warner
Shane Watson
Virat Kohli (C)
Marlon Samuels
Glenn Maxwell
Matthew Wade (WK)
Praveen Kumar
Tim Southee
Nathan Lyon
Jade Derbach
Boy if this XI were an actual team..
-
This just came to me, but surely Arjuna Ranatunga should be captaining this XI?
Pure arrogance and always called for a runner for no apparent reason other than a lack of fitness...
-
Who would be the coach?
Greg Chappell?
-

Yes,the one and only.

Haven't seen him play so not able to comment on that but have heard a fair bit about him.
-
Munaf Patel and Virat Kohli.
-
I can't believe nobody has mentioned Ganguly
-
Ravi Shastri is a Shi...
-
Dilshan :o
-
From a few years ago, Greg Mathews, like a little mongrel dog that never gave up.
-
Leading on from this topic are any of us surprised to see at least two of the names in this article? Watson and Johnson? Khawaja surprises me and I know little about Pattinson....but still....

A certain lady on the Holland team also a forum member......
only joking, I have my dislike for Shane Watson, he even forgets to do his homework.....what a bad lad
-
the entire Indian team, most notably Kohli, Raina and Dhoni
then to name some from other test sides:
Aus: Siddle, Watson, Maxwell
NZ: none
Sri Lanka: Dilshan
Pak: Hafeez, Misbah
Eng: Broad, Broad and Broad
-
I can't believe nobody has mentioned Harbajhan, he doesn't even walk when he gets bowled!
-
And nobody has mentioned Steve Smith either! :o
-

well it could have been a no ball.....:P

Tsotsobe. Over rated, lazy and poor fielder. Saw some very lack luster performances while at Essex.
Sadly the way of the world is that in South Africa his face fits...take from that what you will
-
Pretty much the whole indian team. They all have that look of smug arrogance and entitlement even though they're s***! All of them deserve to have it punched out of them!
-

That might be taking it a bit far......
But yeah Broad and Bopara really grate me. Pure empty arrogance.
-
I would never put ST in with the rest of the Indian team!
He is one of my faves, in both attitude and general niceness!!
But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess....
-
And nobody has mentioned Steve Smith either! :o
Smiffy is harmless, not your typical brash Aussie, not his fault that Australia are so bad that he is a genuine test match option.
-

Surely you have to exclude Sachin? I don't know the guy etc but he's never struck me as anything other than a gentleman of the game. Kohli etc.. now they are ego's on legs
