Looking at 1:53 you seem to be planting your front foot in the same spot, which makes it difficult for you to play those balls outside off safely. I would aim to get a bigger stride out and towards the line of the ball as well. This problem also arises at 1:25 and 2:46.

You are very strong off your legs which is good, but perhaps next time get the machine set up to test you a bit more outside your off stump.

You seem to pick up the bat with your hands very far away from the body. I'm no qualified coach but I imagine that's likely to either leave a big bat pad gap, or have your bat not coming down straight (which it looks like kinda happened with the leading edges at 2.58 and 5.36.)

Your not opening up your left foot when playing your on drives. It should be facing mid on but your foot seems to point straight towards the umpire when playing your on drives

as i said last week its your hands for me ... it looks like before the ball is bowled youve tightened them up to your body.. but its when you do the twirl of your bat your hands arent coming through straight... try to get your bat lift up and down in a straight line.

That's why I had my hand tight to my body mate as last week they were far away and I playing the ball with a closed face but ill try my best to get it coming down straight. Also like dan said my hip comes through quite a bit !

I don't know whether it's just me but when you go to pick up the bat in your back lift you seem to twist it and sway it out to offside. I'm going to guess that somebody's mentioned you playing inside to out but I'll double check  :)

What I tried to do to help counteract this is make sure that my bat is starting straighter and make sure that it's going through straight by practising a few before hand shadowing the straight drive with just my top hand on... if that makes any sense?!

Just my point of view any way, hope you can take something from that haha.

I've been trying to get it to come through straight but I can't haha!
Buzz has pointed out to me I'm holding the bat wrong for starters so hopefully that helps haha, about 6 years of holding it wrong and not one of my coaches has pointed it out :o
I get what your saying about the top hand shadow shots so cheers for your input mate!

Bottom hand too far round maybe? and possibly top hand as well. Head can get a bit outside the line of the ball. Head stays pretty still throughout though and seem to be well balanced.

looks to me like your top hand is to far behind the splice

your backlift is a bit dodgy, your hands should be close to the pocket of your trousers on your back leg

it looks like oyu are not cocking your wrist bit turning it so you are playing with your hands and bend your elbow to the leg side as a result... if that makes sense??

1:55 is an example of everything above

twist your hand more to the outside edge. Im going to post up a series of photos which will give people a way to cheat their way to a correct grip each time.

you have done the best thing possible videoing a net  now use the pause button to see where the ball and foot and head are going even better get someone else to watch with you      i agree with the hands and seem loose arms to body   i find putting a towl tween arms and torso and do pick ups and shadow shots and see if it falls out before contact area

just my view

That towel drill is a new one for me. Never heard it before however that sounds like a brilliant idea mate! Thanks for that :D

looking decent mate! just keep practicing and you will get more comfortable the more you are batting. only thing i would say is try not to hit the balls on your legs so fine try to on drive the ones on middle/leg - leg as if the pitch stops on you and you are trying to put them through square leg you might get a leading edge. but that is being picky

toenails ....

watch the video very very carefully upto 1 minute

take a look at your hands when you lift the bat back. its like you leave go with your top hand and then rotate the hand towards yourself meaning your v is towards the inside edge ........ unfortunately this means that you can not drive the ball properly as you have to drop your elbow and then pat the ball with your hands and a bend wrist.

Try to line up your v's towards the outside edge between splice and outside edge.

stop the video on 19 seconds for a perfect example ... will need the full HD to see it clearly though.

I think if you sort this out you will be a very very different and much improved batsman as you seem to have the right idea at what shots to play.

Im going to record a few videos of grip, back lift and basic swinging of the bat and also so very controversial thoughts on how you should bat.

none of this 100% side on or even weight distribution of weight on your feet in your stance ..... so it may seem very strange and a big no no to some.

Best way is probably to set up a free blog and then post up the writings here.

Have the back lift straight. It might help coming round on the ball.

It also simplifies everything. I know some great batsmen had their backlift at aroun 3rd/4th slip, but they were in the top 0.5%. I find just make everything as simple as you can.

I'm no qualified coach but the first thing that really struck me was your grip.

It seems that your grip has the V's of your hands lined up between the spine and the inside edge of the bat (hard to explain properly) causing the face to be very closed. Making playing of your legs easy but makes it very difficult to play on the off side.
