Hi Jack, if you are after some advice, please use the search function as there are a lot of discussions relating to bags...
-
[Do you have a budget or any other requirements mate?] Vitas Cricket, no more than £80-£85
-
i really like the look of the newbery tour and the t-rapta bag :) thanks, probably will be buying one of those two, oh and has anybody had the ayrtek stand up bag because i like the look of that but iwould like to here some reviews on it first ??
-
I have a second hand Aero Tour stand up bag for sale if you want a stand up version.
-
Look in the Ayrtek section. There will be some reviews there, including mine somewhere
-
i dont like the aero tour sorry, and thanks i wil look on the ayrtek section
-
hi, could you lot at its just cricket do a review on the gunn and moore original duplex wheelie bag please? it would be much appreciated.
Jack :)
-
We have a fresh batch of bags arriving on the first week in April if your after one, failing that they are also stocked by Morrant and Batting 46
-
Sure, we'll review the GM Duplex Wheelie bag as and when we get it in stock. Unfortunately, with our shop bursting at the seams with stock at the moment, we don't have any more room for big bags, so may have to wait a while longer unfortunately...
-
ok, could you please tell me when you have got it in and reviewed it then? thanks :) and

Jack, there'll be a video review of the T-RAPTA bag going up pretty soon. I will let you know when it's gone live...
-
Tat ayrtek bag sounds good but i can't see the pictures and im looking forward to the review of the t-raapta it looks great!
-
The Trapta looks the nuts Paul. How do they do it for £60 though??
-
Don't know, Jamie - but I'm not complaining! For those of you who are wondering, we don't stock the T-RAPTA bag, but it's the bag I'm using now, so I can't help but talk it up! :)
-
paul,
is the t-rapta bag good quality material?? like strong and hard wearing?? :) and could you put some pictures up please?? thanks :)
-
Im seriously considering getting one. Only got my salix a few months ago though...but its just not quite big enough for all the kit ive collected on this forum. Bit of a catch-22 that...buy more kit, need to buy bigger better bag for that kit...which in itself is even more kit...then ill need more kit to fill the bag...what do I do!?
-
im with you on that, except i just need a new bag but im seriously considering getting one
-
but i also like the look of the newbery tour and this

paul,

Very good quality, hard wearing material, mate - as good as I've seen actually...
-
thanks paul :)
im stuck between the t-rapta, the warsop platinum and the newbery tour or maybee the gm original duplex wheelie but mainly the warsop t-rapta and the newbery
-
Newbery Tour is a great way to wind everyone else in the dressing room as it takes up 90% of it! Same with the GM original duplex
We'll potentially have one of each of those in our dressing room this year, could be interesting
-
hahaha , well our dressing rooms are pretty big so it wont matter ;) still though the newbery tour looks a beauty
-
Used my T-RAPTA bag for the first time at nets tonight. It's amazing! Stands up perfectly, very organised and can even carry it comfortably on my shoulders when fully loaded! Couldn't recommend them highly enough...
-
I've been looking into bags in a big way, I ordered the Warsop Platinum and it is the biggest bag in the world, I could have zipped up my car in it every night! It's a great bag, but it is truly truly huge - my missus just laughed when she saw it.
Warsop swapped it for me and are a great company to deal with, I am very tempted with the Rapta bag
-
so now its between newbery tour And t-rapta,
paul, could i fit all my keeping kit and batting kit in the t-rapta??
-

Yes, comfortably. Our video proves this.
-
cool, when are you doing the video??
-
Paul, when are you doing the video? :)
-
I'll PM it to you, Jack...
-
hopefully i will be ordering the T-rapta bag in the next few days :)
-
Any chance you can get some pics up once it arrives? Thanks
-
yeah sure i think im ordering it next tuesday or wednesday or sometime around then :)
-
oh dear, im stuck again,
really like the look of the mongoose super premium and the slazenger v1200 stand up :/
but i still like the t-rapta
-
Go for the T-Rapta and if you don't like it ill buy it off you :D
-
Guys looking for new big bags, especially wicket keepers: here's another one you might want to consider...

Hi Jack,
Have you tried comparesportskit.com to assist you with finding the right kit at the right price?
-
haha so many options now!
and i will go on that website now :)
-
this website is amazing :)
-
would anybody here recommend the gray nicolls players or the kookaburra pro players or the slazenger v1200 stand up ??
-
Bought myself the Newbery Tour Wheelie this morning, after previously getting fed up with the Aero Stand up bag. Obviously not used it properly yet, but ive just packed it and im impressed with how much ive got in it.
2 bats, 2 keepers pads, 1 batting pads, 3 pairs batting gloves, 3 pairs keepers gloves, bag of inners, helmet, toilletries bag, bootbag full of odds and ends, spikes. Still got a side pocket free and the front pockets for clothes free as well as room for more stuff in the main compartment.
Despite being the same size as the aero it seems to be a lot smaller which is good (i havnt put the rigid sides in so the empty space "collapses" which makes it smaller too) it also is easier to fit more in than the aero.
One downside is the tops of the bats poke out the end of the designated bat pockets which also isnt padded.
Really impressed with it, and it looks great. Will have take a few snaps and maybe a vid to show how much stuff i can get in it.
-
yeah i saw that in the its just cricket video for the newbery tour bag that the bat didnt fit in the pocket,
and now i have finally got it down to either slazenger v1200 stand up wheelie or t-rapta large wheelie,
i know slazenger bags are great quiality as i had one a couple of years ago but the t-rapta looks really well made too :/
what do you guys think?
-
T-Rapta all the way :)
-
Just buy both and consider it your induction to the forum ;)
-
i wish i could buy both but i dont have that much ;) anybody got the slazenger v1200??
-
its just cricket, does the slazenger back have any side pockets? for accessories and grips and stuff??
-
Just to update on the Newbery, i put the "poles" in the sides to make it more rigid and it stretched the sides out fully, a bat fitting in diagonally does fit into the bat pocket and zips fully up. Still impressed with it (i've been packing and unpacking it randomly all day to see how best it is to fit everything in).
Next thing to do is the boot test, what cars boot will it and wont it fit in. I'm thankful i'm skippering this season so nobody giving me a lift will moan about the size of my bag :D
-
its just cricket, does the slazenger back have any side pockets? for accessories and grips and stuff??
Yes, I believe it does
-
ok thanks, im not sure because if it does then i might go for it, and i know the mongoose super premium is really good but the t-rapta still looks really good too
-
anybody got a mongoose super premium bag?? or a slazenger v1200 stand up wheellie?
-
I have the kookaburra equivalent to the Slazenger - same concept for storage
-
the pro players??
is it good quality?
-
Just looking at the T-Rapta bag again, cant believe someone has made a bag which fits 4 bats in the bottom part. Can any others?
-
anybody got a mongoose super premium bag?? or a slazenger v1200 stand up wheellie?
I used to have the mongoose super premium. Big bag, lots of pockets but no bat cave
-
I used to have the mongoose super premium. Big bag, lots of pockets but no bat cave
really no bat compartment?
on all the explanations i have read it says internal bat compartment??
-

the slazenger v1200 stand up wheelie can have 3 bats
-
Starting to think three wheels on a bag is the way forward, especially for the big ones... Anyone else agree?
-

100%, with two wheels the bags always seem to bow and end up rubbing on the ground which means they get runined after half a season. Although im sure thats plenty of time for some of the lads on here!!
-
Room for 3 bats isnt enough! Not once youve been on this forum a while...
Does the T-Rapta have 3 wheels too?
-
the pro players??
is it good quality?
Yeah, lots of pockets to keep everything separate etc (inc 3 bats as the Slazenger) - its brand new and never been used so cant answer from experience if that makes sense! Paul as always (IJC) has done great reviews of the bags so you can see for yourself practically.
-

haha true ;)
no the t-rapta has 2 i think
-
Site says this "Two tier system. Bottom tier includes a "bat cave" which fits four bats plus storage for clothes etc."
Maybe Paul can clear up?
-
The T-RAPTA has two wheels. Don't get me wrong, I still love the bag, but I'm starting to get topple issues when it's fully loaded. I walk 25m down the road and it topples, so I keep having to set it back up again. Doubt I'd get that on the Salix tri-wheel...
-
well that seems to make it either slazenger v1200 stand up, kook pro players, mongoose super premium but the t-rapta is kinda not in there anymore if it topples :/ had loads of toppling previously and it gets really annoying :L
-
Has anyone detailed pics of the T-Rapta bag or is there a review on here of one?
-
John, just PMd you some info on it.
Jack, surprised you're not considering the Salix, especially as it has three wheels!
-
really no bat compartment?
on all the explanations i have read it says internal bat compartment??
Sorry, should have been a bit clearer. The one I had was a 2012 bag - it seems as though the 2013 bag has been updated to include an internal bat compartment looking at the info as you suggest
-
i would paul, but i have found the kook for £70, the mongoose for £60 and the slazenger for £65 and obviously the t-rapta is £60 but the salix is much more expensive and not as big , do you have a review for it?
-

Yes, just PMd it to you. Might last you an extra season or two though...
-
it does look a really good bag and quality made,
-
are there any side pockets on the salix for my shed load of accessories ;) ??
-
I have the 2013 Salix 3 wheeler coming, and it looks awesome!
Still have Aero Tour bag but thinking that the Salix is a beauty so why not!!
-
http://www.prodirectcricket.com/lists/salix-cricket-bags.aspx (http://www.prodirectcricket.com/lists/salix-cricket-bags.aspx)
Old (im assuming 2012 and 2011) bags going pretty cheap on prodirect. The red lined one is bigger, pretty good for £40
-
ahh yes these look really good, strange how the rrp has gone up from £80 to £95
-
and paul, do you stock chase cricket?? they have some really goood kit
and they have a 3 wheeled bag ;) the pro wheel 170 here;

Your making Paul work hard for a sale mate ;)
-
haha
-
Gosh this is as exciting as Ewans "which bat should I buy" thread, it just keeps giving!
Jack, the season is fast approaching, you've probably only got time for 6 or 7 more pages on this thread.
I think you should get down to Pauls, choose a bag and do a joint video review with him (perhaps including a short musical number?) - it's the only way to settle this!
-
hahaha
-
ive got it down to these three

a shame these prices are so low because i would have liked to go down to its just cricket and see the bags but if they are cheaper online then i dont really need to , a shame though
-
Paul's given you all that help and everything so Id go with the newbery tour or a salix bag from there mate ;)
-
Price vs service. If you can see them in the flesh then you can make your decision
-
Yeah true, i'm sending my old bag back to prodirect tomorrow, and im not gonna get another bag from them, so i might as well talk to paul about the salix and the slazenger
-
oh they dont have the slazenger
-
Here's my review on the V1200' its a quality bag, and you can't go wrong as far as storage goes.

-
oh they dont have the slazenger
So get the Salix then. Slaz stuff is crap anyway!
-
wow! it looks amazing in those pictures.
just makes the decision even harder ;)
just need to send my bag back, get my refund because it broke, then its either the v1200 stand up, or the pod one tri wheel
what do you lot think Slazenger v1200 stand up wheelie or salix pod one tri wheeled ???
-
So get the Salix then. Slaz stuff is crap anyway!
i had a slazenger bag a few years ago and it was really good so i disagree with you there
-
i had a slazenger bag a few years ago and it was really good so i disagree with you there
Just get a bag, it's really not that hard a choice!
-
i was just asking for some advice calm down
-
So get the Salix then. Slaz stuff is crap anyway!
That really depends on whether you go to sports direct and get Slazenger stuff that falls apart or whether you fork out the money, the V1200 is the opposite end of the spectrum to crap!
-
im pretty sure the slazenger is very good quality as it does retail at £100 and i have decided to go for it :) thanks for the advice everyone :)
and charlie15 thanks for that review :)
-
just a quick one as too tired to read through all the pages but i got myself an ayrtek stand up bag from batting46 a couple of months ago and its awesome, proper top gear and a decent company to deal with aswell
-
I swear i read it earlier that you went for the salix tripod. now it is the Slazenger
-
I swear i read it earlier that yoy went for the salix tripod. now it is the Slazenger
This is starting to feel like a never ending saga :-[
-
Not sure I have the time or energy to get involved in these bag debates any more - think we'll just let our videos do the talking from now on! But despite the roller-coaster ride, I am still glad Jack finally found what he was looking for!
-
i was going with salix but then i wanted the bigger bag so i went with the slazenger
