Great spot
-
Saw this exact same thing but failed to get a picture. Struggling to work out what it said though, just assuming it had 'TON' on there.
First time that I've thought it wasn't a GM though, never been too suspicious
-
Might just be a dent in the bat?!?!?
-
Could it say Joe? If it was the right way up?

Depends how much glue you've sniffed and it can say whatever you like haha
-
ah whoops didn't spot this thread when I posted my photo on the England Vs NZ Test thread! for me it definitely says BAS.

Can't see BAS personally
Clearly a T but the horizontal line makes me think it can't have been an N, or Joe Root is just hopeless at woodwork...
-
what ever it is based on looks it's shocking

Bit of wood filler would sort that out, if he posts it to me I'll do it for him too...
-
T I T?
-
It shaped like a octane maybe somebody messing around or,maybe swapped bats with one of the Indians
-
T I T?
I need that on the side of my bat! Bit of insulation tape over people's TITanium helmets, if unnoticed when they put the lid on usually has good comedy value! One of my favourite dressing room pranks. (Slightly off topic I know)
-
Prior will have had them de branded it really not that deep .
Bt you never know bet gunn and Moore are inquisitive I guess he is a marque player.
-
I reckon it's just unfortunately placed dents. Looks like it's got a fabric imprint in the dents
-
Although doesn't have the made in England sticker
-
TON stamps are nowhere near that deep.
From the condition of his bat it looks like its been rattling around in his bag, on the floor, and wherever else he feel like throwing it! Perhaps it's an unfortunately placed dent.
-
If half the edges weren't carved away then he might have got a knick on that!
-
As Colesy said, does not have 'Made in England' sticker plus shoulders look way too thin for that unless its an angle.
I don't think dents could be that comprehensive due to the location.
Or maybe he was emulating Ricky Ponting ala;

Doesn't look anything like ss or ton. If anything, at a push maybe JOE!

have a look here, its on both sides of the bat, so i suspect not a "unfortunalty" placed dent
