Who did Salix take on as their apprentice?
-
alan sugar :)

Your're fired :)

I spoke with Andrew Kember last week on an unrelated matter and asked about the apprentice role.
Faste(r)eddie missed the deadline and was interested in applying.
Apparently the role is yet to be filled but faste(r)eddie has chosen the Army instead.
The role is still live.

AK is indeed investing in the future!
It's admirable really 8)

I sent off an application a long time ago, worth a punt I thought
Not heard a thing

The post is still open although I have been working with Andrew for the last 3 months and looking in the future to take this on full time and work on the HitsHard brand to earn my stripes. I currently do a lot of the binding of the handles, polishing and final finishing work. I am also learning about the willow and clefts, how to spot compression fractures and how to choose the driving area and which cleft will make which grade of bat. Really enjoying my learning so far.

Whilst still doing another job?
Yes mate still got a few years left on my mortgage, but still quite young so as long as Andrew is happy to have me I will keep learning on days off a d when I have free time, it will be harder to spend more time in the summer due to me playing sat & sun but I am really enjoying the learning and if I do say so myself I think I am doing quite well at present time and so far haven't made any mistakes
