Title: Gold sov
Post by: Aldred Cricket Bats on April 04, 2013, 05:20:25 PM
This was one of this afternoons projects a gold sovereign 2-8 for a local cricketer. It is a beauty a couple of marks on the face but response is unreal he's a lucky lad I reckon to grab this.

That looks great Paul, love that profile! Nice low sweetspot and plenty of meat in the driving area. Is this one's fully dressed weight including the grip and scuff sheet 2'8?

Yes cys it is its actually just a shade under 2-8 to be honest but it was how he liked the feel of it as we were shaping it for him

Lovely bat there Paul
What is your personal preference ? Classic shape or thick edge ones ?

In not one for huge edges to be honest but that is where our supreme shape has now evolved a combination of the two. I still love the traditional shape but again we have mixed the vintage profile with the wish for larger profiles. I am to be honest really happy with where we are now. We have taken on board great ideas from current county players and coaches including some great thoughts from old friend Ashley Giles who comes and plays Taverners and combined with my own thoughts developed it to what we have and I am incredibly happy with them and keep trying to build on it each and every time I make a bat. We are investing heavily in the development of the business at this time but don't want to change what we are set out to do from the very start.
