Title: Brother's new bat
Post by: Colesy on April 08, 2013, 02:03:00 PM
It's my brother's 7th birthday so decided to get him another bat to go with his Readers bat and Gray-Nichols Quantum. This is lighter than his other two and bigger. I's not sure what it weighs but it picks up really well, and the handle is a good sized round handle. It's got a Newbery Tour shape and I have to say I really like it. Edges aren't that big at a mere 15mm but even for a size 3 that's not too bad. The face isn't all that great, can't distinguish many grains but makes a great sound off the blade as you can really get quick bat speed because of the weight and balance. Can't say I'm taken by the stickers, don't have the class of something like Newbery though.

My brother seems really happy with it, already hit a few big shots with it and brought a smile to his face so hope he gets plenty of runs with it.

BTW you didn't mention the 'polyarmour' coating... Looks like it's had plenty of oil from the colour of it.  :D

Had a little go with it myself earlier. Think the middle is a bit higher than the profile suggests, was very nice off the back foot, cuts and back foot drives were nice whereas drives were a little harder to get hold of.
