Title: Overcoming the loss of a loved one (cricket bat)
Post by: wilkie113 on April 09, 2013, 10:02:33 PM
So, due to finding some devastating cracks on my hattori, the inevitable is going to happen soon, where I will have to let me loved one go, and move onto wood new.
I think I will more than likely look for a new bat. To try and replace the hole left by this true gem of a piece of willow.
But any advice?

Few pictures of the poor girl

It's been oiled and looked after mate, I guess it's just the amount of runs it's scored ;)

Just throw yourself into another purchase. That always seems to help!

Make sure you always have at least a few bats spare , and make sure you buy a few more for every bat you break , just in case , seems the general consensus on here  :)?

Took it off when I noticed that mate, and had a look, just doing to tape over the two cracks, and then oil it up again

Isn't it obvious? Get a budget drawn up and start shopping for her replacement!

Ha ha well said mate. Wilkie is turning into a mini bat who re ;)

If you loved the hattori mate why not just get Matt to sort you another? It may not be as good, it may be ten tines better. , you won't know until you try. Every bat has its own persona and none are ever exactly the same. If you adored this one as much as it appears then show the man some faith and get it made again. The closest you'll get to the original will be from matt. Look at me not trying to sell you a BR. I must be off my game today ;)
