A team mate has given me his bat as he wants to take some weight out of it. However its only a 2.9, it feels slightly bottom heavy so I thought rather than just take the weight out it might be worth trying to rebalance it.
Ive thought of putting a thick grip on, and removing the toe guard. Any other thoughts?

Counter- balance - lead tape ??

roll the grip up, add some hockey/cloth tape to the bottom half of the handle, almost like re-gripping a badminton racket, roll the grip back down (will add about 1/2 oz to an oz) and should feel better...remove as many stickers from the bottom of the bat as you can..

Toe guard won't really improve the pick up. You could try lead tape or have some weight removed from the toe.

Has anyone used lead tape effectively? I know people talk about using it, but has it made a difference?

i do on my bat, you have use a decent amount for it to have an effect but it is good as you can add as much/little as you need to get your desired balance
