Title: Gutted
Post by: coverpoint_pro on April 16, 2013, 07:46:35 PM
Absolutely gutted that this happened tonight
It's my puma bionic 6000, possibly the best bat for feel and response I've ever had, thought it had loads of life left in it after only being used for 12 months

Gonna maybe try cut her down to a fielding bat

RIP

I'd definitely contact Puma mate, I know it's been used bang on twelve months, always worth a shot before you cut her up

Bit of glue....bit of tape.....sorted....isn't that right Wilkie??  ;)

My Chase broke in almost the exact same fashion, that was repairable......if you love it that much it might be worth a go?

I'd get those GN stickers off before sending it to Puma lad ;)

I can ask for a contact from Rob of it will help but can't promise they'll be any help as I've never dealt with them

Haha yeh, i asked rob whether i could send the puma direct to him for a refurb, but i got told i had to go back to the shop where it was bought, then they would send it to puma who would then send it to rob.  It came to something stupid like £60 for a refurb, so i did it myself and put some GN stickers on it.
But yeh please liam a contact would be great.

Pedals, did the bats performance drop a lot after the repair? Would i be better using the money towards a new bat and getting a copy of this made

I think Fast Eddies bat was repaired after it broke in the same way. glue, sand, dowel and a lamitoe should be fine :)

The performance of the bat hasn't dropped at all. The only downpoint is that it is obviously more susceptible to breaking in the future. Dan at Chase glued and clamped mine then stuck a lamitoe into it to add some strength....it plays like it always did....it won't last forever but I reckon it's good for another season.....

Just need to decide now whether to send it for a refurb and hope it last the season, put the money from a refurb towards a new bat, or send it for a refurb and whilst its getting repaired get it copied!  Decisions decisions!

Get a copy made while its being repaired mate, that way you get the best of both worlds with the original back and a back up when the original finally goes to the big kit bag in the sky
