Title: Has Cten/carbocane/other non-standard handles effected running runs?
Post by: piethepker on April 17, 2013, 11:00:56 AM
Has it affected your running due to you feeling like you timed the ball better then you did?

Any personal experiences?

urm - usually you look where the ball has gone and where it is in relation to where the fielder is, rather than guessing how well you have hit the ball, when deciding whether to run or not!!

The opposite effect for me.  I found I often timed it better than I thought.

Yeah i know that, but sometimes don't you just hit a ball and know how many it will be, sometimes don't you just hit it and just know it's a 4/2?

I only know that by looking at where the ball went. In most cases into a fielders hands, meaning me going for the single would look well....just stupid.

you have never hit a ball and it hasn't gone as far as you expected?

I know it probably wasn't the best question, but thanks for the answers.

Know it's a 2, how can you possibly foresee a wild throw past/over the keeper so you can walk another one??  ;)

I had the Newbery c6+ with that carbon core handle as well as a Powerbow atomic with the carbon handle, I prefered them, not too sure why, however they do make a distinctive sound when you hit a ball cleanly though, I guess it is all down to personal preference. I don't think its added or detracted from scoring runs, just an alternative to the norm.
