Hi all,

As per the pics above, (dumb phone making me put them there!)  I've got a split approx 6inches up from the toe, which wraps around the inside edge (approx a thumb width either side). Bat is approx 2months old (bought from the forum) was knocked in for approx hour and half. Only used in nets and against bowlers (no machines).

Any advice? Is it repairable (glue and clamp then tape?) what may have caused it (under knocked in?)
What might have caused it, an unlucky ball?

Sorry if this seems a dumb question or its an obvious answer!

Ta

That edge crack is likely to be down to not having spent enough time knocking in the edges.

pva glue the edge crack and apply pressure with a cut up grip or elastic band. PVA glue the toe, making sure it get's right in and then clamp to apply pressure. Repeat if the crack hasn't completely sealed.

Fair enough - I suspected it was my bad (i've not knocked a bat in since I was 15 having only recently returned to cricket, criky thats 17years ago!!).

Live and learn and I'll focus some more in my hammering!!!

Ta for the advice.

id just glue it up and parcel tape for both, probs clamp the toe aswell (face-back of bat).
