Is that heartwood at the side of the bat? It's got an odd colour.Is it willow picked towards the end of it's age? It's grade 4 english willow.

Anyone wondering about the brand, it's cougar cricket, they are based in Australia and they have a Ebay store

Also, it just got a little wet outside, i oiled it once before hand as i have just got it, will that affect performance?

Yes that is heartwood, and no the performance of the bat wont be affected !
