Morning Guys,
im looking to buy some new pads at the end of the month, was pretty much decided on the lorimers ones to match my gloves but then came across these

what to you think? or do i go for the SS embossed pads as i have a tiny fancy for them?
-
I want that top pair. My ideal pads and decent price. If you end up ordering let me know mate and I'll go in with you
-
Go in with me? i think theyre in india!
theyre a good looking pair of pads but a bit skeptical about why theyre so cheap, and also from buying things from abroad
these are the lorimers ones £38 and then £3 p+p

Online Stockist are sound mate, plenty of people have ordered from them. They're cheap because that's what decent pads should cost before the big guys whack their logo on
-
what the delivery waiting time?
Ive got a 3 games on the weekend of the 8th june and will need them then as my itias pads are falling apart

I am not sure what the lead time for delivery is, but I would expect 4 weeks as customs may get involved.
-
lorimers it is then, toenails gave me a rave review about their pads and for the price im happy
-
You'll probably have to pay 20% Import VAT on these unless you can try and get them sent as a sample with no commercial value, but even still you may get hit!
Look like a copy of the SG pads.
-
Have you given any thought to our Sponsors? Some great prices on offer from them, quick delivery and they really keep this forum going?
-
its a case of costing ciaran as im on a very very small budget, but am a bit anal when it comes to matching gloves and pads
-
Message them, see what they can do. If it wasnt for them we wouldnt be about. Then you wouldnt have anywhere to go when its time for a moan, or to talk about new gear!
-
What's your budget mate
-
I've used online before for keeping gloves and batting pads. No problems with customs duty, just be aware that a lot of the mens sizes come up smaller than normal. Which is okay if your a short a...e.
I'm using or was using (injury is worse than first thought >:() Bulldog softs, superb value for money and a forum sponsor :)
-
pads im looking at around £45, but as i said i like my softs to match otherwise i feel completly village with pieced together kit.
@97notout, injuries mean nothing, i had a complete knee reconstruct 2 years ago (ruptured mcl, ruptured acl, torn pcl, severed patella tendon and fractured head of femur) and also a cartilidge clean out a month ago and still fighting the pain but playing, just now a slip fielder

More like without its everyday members, there wouldn't be a forum.

Yep the members pay the bills. Lets just scrap sponsors all together eh. Yes members make the forum, and without members this wouldnt exist, but when it comes to recommending where people should buy, why is the stock answer, online stockist or ebay, rather than a sponsor?
Lets be honest, nearly every member on here is a know it all whatsit who thinks that they know best and what a "true bargain" is. In reality we are not. We have limited knowledge gleaned from a forum like this, which without a sponsor would struggle to afford server space.
-
There's a bloke in Yeovil who has done all the hard work of importing the pads from Online Stockist already, and is selling the exact sam pads on at a slightly higher cost (I think the Test ones are £45 including delivery, and the other ones are £40 including delivery)
Exactly the same pad and without the hassle of waiting! Alternatively, Kieron has some of last years spirit top of the range pad for £30
-
Yup - I'll shout out the Bulldog pads - very, very comfy.

cannot get my mind round how much of a bargain this is!
I use these currently, very nice. I'm quite tempted to buy a 2nd pair to have as match day pads or to follow on from current pads.
-
We have
2012 bulldog spirit pads £30
Newbery Uzi £22
Newbery thruxton £60
2013 bulldog spirit £60
Someone brought a pair of SS pads that they bought from online stockest into the shop last week. They were very small. No bigger than youth pads.
-
The ss pads from there are small men's but some do slip into youths
The blank pads they sell online stickiest are small men's I can confirm this Gavin owned both pairs of there blank pads.
Batman sells better size of pad.
Bulldog do sell some decent pads no doubt though
There some decent deals around on pads both on the forum and away from the forum just don't get blinkered by the forum vajazzile
-
Not being blinkered by anything procricket ;)
i know the guys on here want to make their money but somethings just arent feisable when you currently have the bank balance of a 10 year old and its only the start of the month!
-

Seriously mate they are tops!
-

Yeh the legend gloves are great however it's hard to make a decision as when I netted with Dave (procricket) he had the SS embossed pads and they looked very good so it's a hard choice mate however I do love my lorimers kit :)
-
I know this is gonna sound cheapskate but i dont have the money for the ss embossed at like 45-50 quid i can only just stretch to 40 lol
-
Does it hell mate it all about bang for your buck the lorimers did look good mate I might get a couple of pair of gloves myself
-
Fair point mate, my mate bought a lorimers bat with purple stickers kind of like the Cadbury gt colour and it had a kookaburra toe guard on :o
-
at the moment im playing a decent standard but cant find any reasons why i should spend £££££ on soft goods when none of the bowlers get past 75-80mph my itias pads dont have the greatest protection but i just shoved a couple of bar towels in the front to pad them out. Gloves are in all honesty the best ive had, will buy a second set with pads next month
toenails, thats definatly odd?! but if it was kooka then he would have atleast had a half decent bat
-
Could have been a kook toe guard and nothing shifty. Never heard a bad thing said about Lorimers so would be very suprised if anything odd was happening.
Would serve no purpose for him to resticker a kook for less money anyway
-
Yeh the lorimers bat with the kookaburra toe guard didn't have the TON stanped on the edge so me and my mate think it could have been a blade from last year restickered to sell however it is a great bat regardless!
-
Lorimers and Kook have a close relationship, especially with clearance stuff.
-
the lorimers ton is looking good so tempted
