I went to Romida in Leatherhead to see if I could pick up a size 0 bat for my son today.
They didn't have any (which is fine), but proceeded to show me their collection of size 1 bats.
they were £47.
Do people seriously buy 4-5 year old small boys £47 worth of kashmir bat? (with lovely shiny Oblivion stickers on)!!
I had to remove a screaming 3 year old from the shop (before he walked out with the Newbery keeping pads on ("they are just the right size for me Daddy")!!!
-
£47 for a Kashmir bat is ridiculous! My nephew who is 8 got an English willow bat from Solitaire for £30. Size 3 or 4 I think.
-
Buy a cheap bat from a set and cut it down, we'll that's what I'd do :)
-
We do a couple of covered english willow bats at 35 quid in size 0, 1, 2 and 3
We don't stock Kashmir at all
-
My brother's size 0 GN kashmir bat was £25 a year or so ago
-
Got my lad a size 0 bat for 18 quid!!
-

Lorrimers did me a good deal on a size one and two last year, puma bats and £20 each.
Failing that woodworm are cheap and cheerful as well.
-
is a shame that companies work like this these days as it is costing a lot of families and kids the chance to play this game we adore all because of crazy prices
In AUs bat prices are nuts and getting out of control
700-800 AUD for a bat is just nuts and for a size zero kashmir bat at 47 quid is nuts
I payed 45AUD (20P) for my first bat size 4
-
That is ludicrous but as others have said lot's of more reasonable options out there.

thanks, indeed I have been helped out.
£35 for bat, whites and gloves posted didn't seem unreasonable
-
does not sound reasonable at all. icc should introduce laws that a childrens bats cannot cost more then £20, consequently im sure more children would own a bat and play cricket
-
As someone involved in cricket development this is really saddening and disgraceful
