Anyone having a Newberry Uzi and what is your take on it
-
I've got a Players grade/version and it's my most reliable i.e. never broken the toe or any surface cracks and until very recently my most 'ping'tastic bat I've owned. In all honesty I've used it in both short and long versions of the game... The short blade / long handle works for me well as I'm not a 'slogger' if you know what I mean and I can score 4s and 6s which I've struggled to do with short handle (SH) bats. Saying that I'm still on my journey to find the perfect SH bat for me etc so it's always my back up, my Tonto / Robin etc...
The only downside is getting the odd high bouncing ball on the handle when it could have been the bat but it's never been a big issue.
I can't recommend the Uzi highly enough although I know there are other very good LH bats out there but then again can they live up to the quality of Newbury...

Its actually Newbery but if you search in Ebay under Newbury or Newberry there is usually a good deal to be found that goes undetected :)

bought it from pro direct
Seriously one of the best pinging bats i have seen - weight 2lb 8 oz
not that Huge but what a ping
just an exceptional bat
may it was only that bat but really special
the guy scored max runs in our tournament last year with that bat and now i am seasoning it for coming tournament

I had a Newbery Uzi players but sold it to a team mate last year as I was short of cash and regretted it ever since, Especially as my Salix Pod broke a few weeks later. It just flew and everyone who borrowed it thought it was brilliant. It weighed 2.13 but due to its balance it picked up the same as my pod which was 2.8. I would never usually use a bat of that weight. It gave you total confidence hitting over the top, which unfortunately I don't feel with my current Willostix Stick.
I've been scouring ebay for the last few months but not seen one at a reasonable price. I'd certainly recommend one.
