Title: SG RSD PRO polycoated or not?
Post by: mini998 on May 14, 2013, 12:33:36 PM
Hi all,

Bought a SG RSD PRO online from a reputed seller , but this bat isn't polycoated . I thought all SG bats were polycoated ?

Hard to see he will sell something fake though, Any thoughts?

Will post images later on

Why would it be polycoated?

All the reviews on youtube says they come like that , this is the first time I bought a SG bat so I was going by all the stuff I read and see on internet.

Also Jason's reviews http://cricketgearreviews.com/tag/sg-cricket/ (http://cricketgearreviews.com/tag/sg-cricket/)

I mean I would rather have the bat like this than polycoated but just wanted to make sure if it is a fake or not.

Not all SG bats are polycoated, actually only very few are.

The spec sheets on those reviews say 'poly coated' but surely from just looking at the pictures you will realize that they aren't.

Also Jason lists the look of the willow as one of the plus points...

Nah I have the RSD Pro it's definitely not polycoated, it's G1/2 willow so it wouldn't make sense to polycoat it.

SG RSD Pro cricket bat review by cricket store online (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPZvJzYvWmo#ws)

BTW I didn't get to use it yet but it pings well. Only got 5 1/2 grains and cost me  £90 including shipping.

It is 2.8 so feels ultra light comparing to the other bats I have.

As promised here are the pictures
