I could either be being seriously retarded but nothing is sticking to my bat!!
Anti scuffs or fibre tape!
What could be causing this?
I don't think it's an over oiling as I only oiled it once.....
Any ideas guys?
-
Oil still wet perhaps?
-
It was oiled last a month and a half ago....
-
What bat is it ?. It's probably well finished. Maybe a very light sanding using superfine paper and removal of sawdust will help.
-
It's a ricochet 1000. I've given it a fine sand and wiped it down numerous times and still no stick
-
Does the wood feel dry? Or does it feel quite moist
-
Maybe a touch moist but I no residue on fingers or Paper towels. Nothing. I'm not a noggin on bat moisture so apologies
-
I had similar trouble getting a sticker on to a bat. I pulled the sticker out first time it didn't stick and resulted in the fine particles coating the stickers making it sticking back difficult again. You could also try warming the scuff sheet gently and try again.
-
Tried heating sheet and also fibre tape as I know it loosens the glue. Would it be an idea to put a light heat to dry it out a smidge
-
Try a different scuff sheet maybe and if that doesn't stick , not a clue.
-
Tried 3 different sheets from two brands and absolute zilch
-
too much oil, can be the only thing.
any pictures?

Ill upload some tomorrow at work. I'm tempted to give it a little bit of heat from a hair dryer.
Yes before anyone says it I am aware of the consequences if dry it too much

Its Saturday tomorrow, you've got to be at the club by 10.30

Morgzy, of what quality is the sheet?
-
I'm working tomorrow Ross.
And hammer edge, armourtec and just a standard sheet.
-
in such cases, place it on the face like you will do in normal case and use transparent tape to fix it with the bat. this may sound strange but it works rather well and the face protection is there too. Worked like a charm for me when there was the same problem with one of my bats.

i ended up using a hairdryer and rag to dry and wipe the excess oil, worked a treat apart from the heartwood was a pain in the donkey to dry fully
