Title: Refurb help
Post by: rbblack on May 22, 2013, 09:55:52 AM
Hello all,

I was hoping someone might be able to help me with question about a decent adhesive to get old stickers stuck back down on a bat that I have refurbed. It is a kook bubble 5 star recently bought from Julian on the forum (very nice too).

After completing most of the work I would now like to re-apply the original stickers but I am not sure what glue would work best, any tips would be most helpful!

Cheers,

Rb.

Would something like spray mount work?

The better ones I have used is rubber based contact adhesive such as the fevibond . This is what gave me the best result http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Contact+Adhesive+/p14503 (http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Contact+Adhesive+/p14503)

i wouldn't suggest contact adahisive as its has a tan colour, not sure if this would dry clear - I could be wrong though.

Would PVA work? It drys clear but you'd have to fix it while it went off.

I'll do a test on the contact stuff, I have some lying around in the Garage.

Yeah I did think PVA, just you're right getting it to stay there while it fixes is a pain. Ill post results when in!

The tin I bought said that it dries clear , but it left a slight yellow stain. If it is not a clear sticker , this will not be a problem. Use minimal amount and spread well.
