The profile looks really good!
Pretty wide grains. As they're graded as golds, I'd be interest to know your thoughts on this topic. Feel free to direct me to a pervious thread, if you have already posted on this subject.

Both have seven grains. I always think amount of grains is a personal thing. I personally like a few grains on a bat but I have seen and used bats when I was playing county cricket that looked quite ordinary but were absolute guns. I grade mine predominantly through feel of ball on blade. Looks do come into it of course but that isn't the be all and end all of our grading. We are looking to make bats for club players that pros would use. There is no difference between what I make for our pro Tom Jewell at Surrey to what I make for everyone else. We only use grades 1-3, many big brands would be selling their grade 3 bats for over £200 but we are trying to give people true value for money, top bats for a fair price so we press every cleft individually to get the best performance out of each cleft no matter what grade it is. Grains play a part certainly but the pressing to me is everything.

Thanks for your quick reply. Always interesting to get a bat makers opinion on this subject, especially one who has played the game as well.

Ha ha! The Odd Couple!

Hmmmm Florida, coaching role available you reckon?
-
The sunshine state (florida) eagerly awaits these two lovely bats :)
With tropical climate , lots of Caribbean and south Asian residents cricket is played all through the year
The only ICC approved stadium in USA is in south florida and close to where i live
here's a pic of that

Most of the league finals and other tournaments involving team USA arre played here
Sadly the local county has recently issued a letter that cost of maintaining the facility is high and not profitable and is a big expense for the tax payers
They may start using it for other sports ...so matter is now escalated to ICC
hopefully they can save the stadium

that stadium looks lovely!
-
Is that the stadium where the T20s between West Indies and New Zealand (I think?) were played?
-
Looks a good place for a coach and a bat maker I reckon

Yes the Digicel series between West Indies and New Zealand last year was played here. The year before they had Srilanka and New Zealand series.

Definitely having pro Coach and batmaker will be a big thing for florida. The beautiful east coast of florida and the beach is not too far from the stadium and promises a great time always :)

Whats the job market like? I got a hankering for a move...seriously!! :o
-
Job market is not that bad here ..we have the largest cruise companies of the world here
let me know what kind of field you are in and i can check
-
I could comfortably cruise round coaching and making bats
-
think of the shipping costs for those clefts though...

If you buy in decent quantity the costs aren't that bad, what would be worse is shipping the finished bats out of US to Europe or elsewhere...US to Canada or within US is dirt cheap

Didn't get time to provide feedback on this
Both bats are absolute BELTERS. One was for friend and he was ecstatic to receive it.
Weight is dead spot on at the requested weight. Also proves the point that a good bat does not need high number of grains.
Highly recommended to anyone and everyone.
Here are some more pics i took
