Title: What would you do?

So today I was playing a league game and felt a bit awkward I didn't know what I should have done so here's my situation!

I'm in the fielding side and the bat really catches my eye! It was huge! And my feeling was its a laminate, so I just thought hmm check it out later, we get him out and another guy walks in with another lam! So I mentioned it to the umpire and nothing was done of it, I really didn't know what else could be done, but just to check these bats shouldn't be used at any level? An what should I have done about it?

I don't play at a high standard, so I doubt they felt it would improve the batting much but i just thought rules are rules! I'm in div 7 out of 11
