Title: Darren Sammy
Post by: Twelfth Man on June 11, 2013, 01:02:42 PM
Darren Sammy proving a point here I feel. Brought in because of Ramdin's fiasco. 56* off 35 balls to get WI up to 233-9. Hopefully for his sake he backs it up when he has the ball. Great to see some good hitting from a lower order batsman. Better than the likes of Broad and Swann etc for sure!

Strikes it very clean

Why was Sammy dropped from Captaincy? After all I think he revived West Indies Cricket with some sort of stability!!!!

It's ridiculous that a player like him is seen by many as not to have a role in that side! Huge impact player, can win it himself on his day!

definitely useful in the shorter formats. the general feeling is that in tests, he is not a match winner with either bat or bowl.

Well he is alright as a Player. But do great captains need to be great Players? not necessary always!!!

Is he a bit of a Mike Brearley?

You struggle to hide a bowling captain who is not up to the task.  Brearley could be hidden because there were all rounders a plenty in his side!
