Title: A Hollow Sounding bat??
Post by: hawkeye92 on June 12, 2013, 10:15:01 AM
Hope you guys can answer my question as im clueless!
Ive got a Gray Nicolls Oblivion Le, had it about 2 seasons. recently the top third of the bat has started sounding hollow? I've taken the grip off and peeled back some stickers to have a look but no signs of any cracks. does it mean i need to send it away for repair or is this bats life over?
thanks.

Is it a sort of hollow clap sound that it makes when the ball his the bat(in a certain position)? If so, this could mean that the bat has delaminated - which usually means that the bat doesn't have long left, but it will perform very well until it breaks if you can get over the sound of the bat.
