Hi all
I have an issue with technique, I bend my knee on my back leg too much, it is something I am working on, but want every opportunity to avoid the nightmare of the only cock up on last night's nets.
A ball shot low, and instead of blocking it - my bat hit the outside of my right pad and I didn't get my bat down quick enough.
Does anyone else have this issue, and is there any merit in cutting off the 'top hat' or are there any really thin pads out there on the market?

I'd be more inclined to stick at working on technique before cutting pads or buying thin ones.

I went through a similar phase at the beginning of the season. It was both technical and equipment error for me. My bat was coming from right behind me rather than marginally away from the body and tucked the pads on it's path as soon as I get in line. I was also opening up too much. I was probably on the move as well. I put some cut out grip rings on the top hat to make them snug while not using them.
