Title: Deliberately heavy pick ups
Post by: raymond on August 18, 2009, 01:30:43 PM
I seem to remember that nick knight used to have bats made with a heavy pick up, what is the point in this as surely you might aswell just get a heavier bat. Ive never seen a bat made like this but can only assume they feel much different.

I was wondering as although my fusion is a very good bat, the pick up is so light i find it hard to get my hands through the ball when driving.

Heavy pickup means a low middle - Low middle suits front player and people that like to drive the ball

Well that was simple.

Could you make a bat with a mid placed middle have a heavy pick up by giving it a thick toe?

For me as I like to place some of the techie stuff into the main middle area, I would potentially need to look at shoulder and edges areas first and then adjust the toe.  But that's just me what you are saying is correct as well but may result in a middle that is to low for you if not done right
