Unfortunately I believe the list of who gets a game before him is growing .
Compton. .... surley will be back soon
Taylor. .... just scored 200 great one day player
Stokes. .... next Freddie Flintoff in my eyes
Lyth ....... good test and one day player
The list goes on

Interesting talk on the T20 tonight.
Tredwell 31, talk of when he will rejoin England
Carberry 32, thought of as 2 old.
I think it has something to do with the bloodclot he had on his lungs a few years ago.
On a separate note the grains on his bat are tidy!!!!

If you rember when that bloodclot sadly occurred he had just started to play tests for the england cricket.
My thoughts would love to see him in at maybe number 5 in the odi squad .
The truth game over I believe

No...
-
he should be in the odi squad
-
Apart from his batting he is also the UZI of gun fielders.
-
In the ODI side he has to be a better option than Bell as an opener!
-
i think he should be given a shot in the odi team!
he is in the runs!

Awesome form! The only reason he got out last night was cos the umpire didn't spot the feather of an inside edge before he hit his pads!
And I agree! Send Bell back to play County and find his form in the shorter form, and play Carberry! He's got to be good for 20, so will equal the form Bell is on! Plus the form he's on, if he gets a start, he's likely to push on and get a big score......something that Bell has been failing miserably on for a while now!
I do like Bell and think that very few players look technically better when he is on form! The problem is, do you play someone who will get 20/30 and then get out? Or do you try someone like Carberry who is hitting fantastci form?

the 150* in the 40 over game should have shown then enough, appreciate he will come up against a stiffer bowling opposition on the international scene but worth ago IMO.

Been saying this for ages but he must have annoyed someone not to have a look in. Very unlucky not to feature more for England, he is and has been, one of the best bats in this country for a long time.

Michael Carberry has been very unlucky not to play more for England. He has been one of the highest scoring and most consistent top order batsmen in the county game for the past 6/7/8 years. Unfortunately the only way I see him getting another go would be through injuries to the current top order players (Cook, Root, Compton and Trott). I agree he would do a great job in the 50 over side but, sadly, it doesn't seem to be England's way to pick an older player (despite being in good form). They always seem to go for 'the next big thing' despite them nearly never being ready.

well said, he went to bangladesh when straussy had a rest
i would suggest the most unlucky county player not to be given a chance
he did have a serious illness couple of years back which stopped him in his tracks
outstanding fielder too..
im not sure what England are going to do with Compton but i would suggest in hindsight Carberry would of been a better choice after stauss retired
he's a great one day player too, which Compton is not and England seem to like players who can play both...
having said that, once Compton was picked,he seems to have got a slightly rough deal at present from our selectors.

Is there any chance that Carberry may have turned down an England place? With the amount of tests that they play now with more and more overseas its a long time away from family and friends.
Maybe staying with his family would be more important.

very unlikely due to what he said last night.
