Post by: Lou9490 on June 28, 2013, 01:57:49 PM
wondered what who everyones bet was for the twenty20 in england my opinion is that it is a toss up between hampshire who are strong in all areas of t20 and somerset who if they have all their stars fit can really be dangerous

Hampshire, no contest :)

Royals looking different gravy again this year and hoping to be there when we make the finals day...

Hampshire for me too........they've got the batsmen and the bowlers to either chase or defend pretty much any total. I can see Sussex doing well too but I think they might be a bit light in the bowling dept.

Hampshire have a very strong team again, Somerset will be there or there abouts I'm sure - the way that Nothampton have gone this year so far, I would suggest that they're a decent outsiders bet.

I'm off to the Worcs Glamorgan game tonight, I'm hoping the rain will keep off - 3 different weather apps on my phone are telling me 3 different readings. Packing the raincoat just incase though! I cannot see it being a high scoring affair tonight, win the toss and bowl first!

To add, we(yorkshire) may have been runner up last year, but without miller, root, and probably bairstow for most of the comp, I'm not sure we'll do aswell.

definitely agree that Northamptonshire  are going to be the outsiders expecially after i watched them the other night was very impressed with their pakistani bowler who bowled well at the death and reversed the ball big time

Hampshire clear favourites but there's usually someone who gets on a run and gets to finals day. I don't give my lot (Yorkshire) much hope as we are much weaker than last season. Think Sussex could be a decent bet, they usually go well in the limited overs comps.

I'm off to Chelmsford for Essex Hampshire. Stopped raining for a while now, hoping it doesn't come back. Hoping Essex can have a decent run but won't hold my breath. Will be happy as long as I see more balls than last night...

Hoping Somerset win it this year, and think Glos could be a decent outside bet....

Backing my home county Sussex, were strong last year and have only got stronger during the winter break.

Can beat anyone on their day but have slipped up at the final hurdle on numerous occasions.

Should also be strong contenders for the cb40

Hampshire, but think Northants as an outside bet to make it to finals day this year.

Lots here saying Hants and I tend to agree, tho I'd like to pose 1 question:
Does it make a difference that Hants have been one of the few teams on the TV so far this T20 season?
They won pretty comfortably midweek but could have (should have) finished the job a bit sooner than they actually did.

Just seen highlights of leics v derbys from yesterday and must say Derbyshire look a useful outfit as did Northants on Friday. A very open competition this season

thanks.  I've not heard of them before.  Are they a customer bat company or do they just provide stickers?

yes
but what about McClenaghan'sbowling, he looks the real deal, very eventful 3rd over
he's a wicket taker, very impressive record so far, 10 odi's for nz and 29 wicket I think
bowls good pace and variations
come back and dismissed hussey and hales

What was funnier was that he was running it into the crease to run that 3!! Can hit a big ball that lad!

Anybody watching Tait bowling at the moment? 3 of the first 4 he bowled were given as wide(and the one legal delivery was very, very close to being wide) followed by a juicy half volley hit for 6 then one short on the pads hit for 4.. The rest of the over wasn't exactly brilliant and he certainly looks nothing like the Shaun Tait of a few years ago.

Middlesex strolling to victory here, 125-1 needing 46 off 40 and Essex just look poor.
