Hi guys just thought i would share this bat with you as it bought a huge smile last weekend to a young aspiring cricketer.
Our Chairman recently bought a Laver and Wood Legacy and as you all know its shape is quite unique. His 7 year old son is sports mad and idolises his old man who opens the batting for the first team. As a really kind gesture one of my teamates and aspiring bat maker (DevAussie) decided to make a copy of the Legacy for the young lad. Safe to say his face lit up when he saw it and the following day we had a Cricket Festival at our ground and it never left his hands.
I think its quality and when he grows out of it it'll make a great training aid as well. it is made from a grade 1 cleft that had an issue with the shoulder so couldnt be used as a full size bat.

Hasn't he just cut the toe of a normal bat?

Almost Red Ink, wasn't rocket science to make....I narrowed the cleft to a suitable size for a 7 year old, cut the blade to required length then shaped it down to weight using round bottom plane and draw knife....final weight 1lb 5oz....
Might not be a Scat but kept young Harry happy and used up a dormant cleft...how many 7yo around the world have a G1 bat?
