Hi Guys
I need a cricket boot that offers really good toe protection. i got hit this weekend and it hurts like heck, and need something to protect the entire big toe section on the boot.
Currently have some really decent Asics Gels. but the upper is just a piece of leather and does nothing for me.
any ideas?

safety boots ;)
but seriously none of the cricket shoes will offer enough protection to save the toe.

I can't think of any cricket boot that will help with this. Or any trainer, I think you're just going to have to live with it bud.
-
Found this - think i will go for this if i cant find a boot that suits what i am looking for.

Seen as no one has mentioned this so far, big wooden thing in your hand? tried using that? (I jest)
but in terms of protection I cant see the product you have linked to being much use...
its designed to stop wear to the shoe when a pitcher drags their toe not stop impact damage.

I'm certain Matt Hayden had this applied to offer the protection, trying to find a picture of it - big green thing stuck on his boot when he was batting, think this is the same thing.

oh and yes, full quick (enough) yorker at the start of my innings is asking for trouble..... the ball looks like a marble at that point when i start an innings. (nervous disposition)

I must admit that I do try to hit the batsmen toes with a juicy yorker.
More satisfying watching said batsmen limp off to and plum LBW than being bowled IMHO :D

This is the company he used I believe, that was slightly different to the drag protaction if I remember correctly because he was batting with a broken metatarsal at the time. and was some sort of steel toe cap.

went to a stockists yesterday. and the kookaburra batting shoes offer some much improved protection to the asics i have. gonna get them as my "batting shoes"

Revolutionary. I must say though, that the Kookaburra spikes this year are much improved.
