Title: Kookaburra Ricochet
Post by: philharr on July 04, 2013, 09:55:56 AM
Bought one of these in March after my last bat gave up the ghost.  Pick up is good and middle is great - however above and below the middle sounds very tinny / dead.  Is this a problem with these flat face bats? Have taken in back to retailer and he said give it another few weeks to settle in and let someone else use it and see what they think of it.  They have offered to send it back to Kookaburra if no improvement but cautioned that they probably will not replace.  The bat was pre prepared and I did about another 4 hours of knocking in plus nets before use so it should be fine.  Has anyone had similar problems?

Thanks

Phil

The ricochet 550 I got from IJC is of the best bats I have seen from kookaburra

Amazing ping and lovely pickup

Really happy with that ricochet

Simmy, your bat sounds exactly like mine.  Got a team mate to use it in nets last night and he said exactly the same along with a guy who is a bat nut and wanted to take it off my hands for £100 until he bounced a ball on it.  I'm not sure where I stand here because I think the performance of the bat isn't up to standard but as said before I'm sure Kookaburra will say there is nothing wrong with the bat!

I have used 2 Ricochet's (both 250's) and have been impressed with both. Both have brilliant middles and solid performance in other areas. I have found both bats make a tinny sound as well, must the be result of the flat face.
