Title: 2 strap pad protection
Post by: Lou9490 on July 04, 2013, 04:59:27 PM
do 2 strap pads offer the same protection as 3 strap pads do. just wondered because they seem to be made from a different material and wondered if the protection was the same

I've been using 2 strap pads for past 3 seasons and love them.

I've got a cheap pair of ND Sports ones from ebay and a pair of SS and I've never felt a thing.

No difference in protection. Look at pumas range, some have 2 and some have 3 straps. Will be the same material. I've had the 2 strap pumas and they are super comfy. I went for the Ton gladiators for this season and I am struggling to wrap the bottom of the pad round my legs as they are moulded and won't budge. I can feel the pads clipping when running.

My son has had 2 strap for 3 years because he could feel the strap near his knee digging in. We had to go to morrant to get their 2 strap ones and he has never looked back. Now 3 years on there are a lot of 2 strap pads available and they advertise them as offering "excellent" protecion.

I've a pair of the Puma Pulse 6000 IPL pads. They are two strap and they are as protective as anything I've used. It makes no difference.
