The last two games I have kept I have really struggled with the ball popping back out the gloves when keeping.
The times it pops out I have been stood back. This has only happened recently and really affects my mentality during the game.
I wouldn't say its an issue with snatching the ball or failing to use soft hands. Just seems to happen for "no reason"
Can any one suggest how to improve taking the ball and preventing the ball popping out.

Get your hands further in front of you and give with the ball. I play 1st XI cricket at school and when the pace starts going up with the bowlers you have to let the ball close your gloves and hands on impact or else you try to catch the ball and therefore it pops out occasionally.

Are the gloves new than it will take some time for them to break in.

Try practicing with tennis balls but without gloves on, it really helps. If it's happening when your standing back then perhaps you aren't watching it all the way into your gloves. Just a thought

Also try practising with a shadow batsmen in front, dangling his bat out, when people are bowling/throwing balls at you. I do this as much as possible and it helps me keep my eyes on the ball, and helps keep my hand soft when the batsmens going for the big ones and missing!
