Just had a weekend game and probably bowled the deadliest spell ( from a personal point of view) of this season ( 4 overs-6 runs- 2 wickets). Should have had 3 but had 1 catch dropped at slips.
The best part was got the leading MVP of Div2 SM 40 Finland clean bowled after setting him up nicely with 2 in swingers, a bouncer and a perfect outswinger to take his off stump. So thrilled about it!!! From there on their team never recovered and posted a meager total of 116 in 36 overs which we got in 13 overs.
Got great bounce, swing and more importantly outswing going. So chuffed about my performance :D

5.3 overs, 4-6. The six runs were an edge for four and two wides. All four wickets were bowled or lbw.

Every spell I bowl could be deemed 'deadly'.

Personally I'm crap but my lad bowled 2-1-7-4 other day and his 5th wicket was called no ball

Depends what you mean by deadly. I always thought my deadliest spell was when I walked three batsmen, breaking two toes and a nose. Okay, they weren't wickets, but they couldn't continue playing.

Yesterday i was on fire. First 3 overs were maidens including a stump out the ground about 2 metres back. The only runs to come off we me was edges and a dropped catch. 6-3-9-2 bowling seam up when I'm normally a " spinner"

Dunno about deadliest in terms of hurting batsmen but have got two 8 wicket hauls, one 8-16 from 8 overs the other 8-20 from 9. Have a 7-21 from 10 in a state titles game too that was fun. Think some of my deadliest spells have come in the nets hitting the thighs of my own team - sorry boys!

8-12 off 12 (including 4 byes the ump unfairly wided me for) - Won the Crawley Observer Bowling Award in 2000 for it

First 2 performances were seam up and last one bowling spin. Goes to show if you play enough cricket then eventually every dog has it's day lol

Also, don't know if this is deadly but certainly my best bowling performances recently. Everything I did went right on the these occasions. I've bowled just as well on many occasion, but never been as lucky. Unfortunately, my luck didn't follow on to winning the lottery either night ! 18.3-10-33-9

Played a T20 semi final last week and bowled pretty well. Once again though, everything went my way. 4-0-19-5

I'm always curious when one guy bowls so well and others don't appear to. I know when I took 8-12 I was the only one who swung the ball all day on a flat deck. I took 8-22 in one league game at Windsor because the sun was setting behind my left arm over and the last 4 bats couldn't see it lol

would love to do that but just dont have that kind of pace. But still had the batsman duckin and weavin!!!!

Agree with this, I've had many an occasion where I've bowled really well and got zip, with wickets falling at the other end. Swings and roundabouts, I just had my turn that day.

I guess it depends on your definition of deadly. Last season I rampaged through one teams middle and lower order and took 5 wickets in the space of 3-4 overs however I would personally class my deadliest spell as being 3-25 off 7 a couple of weeks ago. I had no support from the other end and by dismissing three top order batsmen in the space of 3 overs we actually had some sort of chance of winning it. Sadly on that day the constant filth from the other end meant that the oppo were able to nudge and nurdle their way to the end of my spell without worrying about scoreboard pressure.

None of these are deadly compared to our guy yesterday.
2 head height no balls
1 Full toss in the mid drift
1 Ball pitched on the 3rd track away from us and gully fielded it
1 Wicket off a top edge sweep.
1 Over - 2 No Balls - 3 Wides - 7 Runs - 1 Wicket

A youngster I have been helping train bowled the spell of his life 9.4 overs 29 runs and 7 wickets
He usually gets a lot of [friendly] sledging from me when in nets so I just told him to think it was me batting and it really helped him focus and channel his aggression at the batsman.

took 7 for 13 in a midweek t20 last month, which included the first 7 wickets of the innings and my first ever hat trick
6 bowled and 1 lbw
it like to say i was turning it sideways and was utterly unplayable but it really wasn't that special, bowling at the wickets really does improve your chances!

0.5-0-1-1 only (part) over I've ever bowled - finished the game so deadly enough.

I wouldn't say deadly but bowled 4 overs for 7 runs and 3 wickets last week. Div one centralt Yorkshire league and against the top of the league. 6 of those 7 runs were through slip.

In a day night tournament, playing for 3/4 my mate who is a lobby spinner and usually gets tinked came o to owl the last over with them needing 1 run to win, the over goes like this
0, W,W,0,0,W, we then went on to lose the super over, but it was flippin good :)

6 overs, 1 maiden, 10 runs and 5 wickets is probably mine, however it was against the bottom of the table team, perhaps that's why.

Funnily enough I've had exactly the same figures as that once

Have taken a couple of 7 for's but a couple of spells spring to mind for being unplayable
10.2-6-8-6 (bagged all top 5 with a opening 10 over spell then back to pickup the number 11 - really wished our club would go back to Dukes balls as it was hooping around that day!).
Probably my favourite:-

13 over spell opening up seaming the ball both ways at a gentle pace (don't seem to have the knack these days). Guess it sticks in the mind as we were 3rd playing 1st in the league and had struggled to 135 ish for 7 (I finished on 50 odd not out to get to something to bowl at), then worked my way through the top 5 and snaffled the number 6 batsmen at long on. They finished on 120 odd for 8 with a tense finish, seriously hot day and figured out months later I'd damaged the connection to my heel from my Achilles whilst running between the wickets batting (surgery the end of the following season).
Good memories, now strictly medium pace (at best) change bowler (cutters).

My best spell is 5-41 off 12 at HSBC sports ground which for anyone that knows it is a road and a batters dream picked up both openers and then 5,6 and 7 with my medium pace away swing.
Also got 4 for 2 twice in Sunday games and one of those was all bowled and on a hatrick twice. I tend to keep all the time now but like to turn my arm over on Sundays on an Occassionsl basis.

In my younger days, came on to bowl my dibbly dobbly outswingers. My first three overs went wicket maiden, double wicket maiden, wicket maiden as I somehow cleaned up the lower middle order. The next 4 overs went for 10 as the last wicket batted out for as long as they could.

Played a T20 tonight and had very little in the way of seam bowling so I was asked to open the bowling finished with best ever figures 4-0-5-28. My second ever 5 for and we bowled them out for 100 chased it down in 12 overs for the loss of just 1 wicket. That's 4 from 4 so should go through to regional finals.

Can confirm this. Remember playing there a few times in my early teens before the 1st XI came knocking :)....pretty sure everyone that ever batted at HSBC got runs so fair play!

3 seasons ago took 9-39 on a wet one. Had 1.5 overs left to try and get the 10th but the kid batting applied himself much better than the rest of the team and as the game was rain affected I ran out of overs. I was gutted!

I retired from bowling when I was 23 due to a shoulder injury but I weren't bad back in the day.
Not my best figures wise but played in a cup match once when our 2nd team (in division 6) played a first team from division 1. They had a Caribbean lad open the batting for them who was averaging 50 by all accounts. I thought, right, he's having it and notched up the pace a little. First over was a maiden with him looking reasonably comfortable, 2nd over I had at him I'd loosened up a bit, maybe a bit too much when he hit me for 4. So I upped my game and bowled 4 unplayable deliveries at him, last ball of the over he gloved to 2nd slip. Really enjoyed that day as I took another 2 wickets of middle order division 1 batters for not many runs.

I once took 5 for 6 from 9 overs in the national knockout. They were 19 - 9 when my spell finished. They clambered to 53 all out. We scraped home by two wickets on a dry but hardly seamer friendly pitch.
Also 25 overs. 4 - 55. Trying to defend 130 to stay up. We lost by a wicket and got relegated. Tried everything that day.
Faced some horrendous stints as well. Cut on the chin the ball after my mate had had his grille embedded in his cheek. Didn't fancy getting forward!

while opening the bowling, can't believe i only got 4 overs that game.
