So who do you guys figure made Dhoni's magic bat? 6-4-6 to win the tri-nation series! Looks like an SRT profile with no concaving.

A Tour perhaps? ;)

I would put a decent amount of money on it being a Newbery, the toe guard looks Newbery and im sure like many others did while they were over for the Champions Trophy he paid TK a visit.

Looks like a nice bat!! Do we know the weight??

It actually doesn't look too far off a Tour, but I think it looks like a Thruxton too, as it has a little bit of a spine. :) Maybe it's a hybrid of both if it is indeed Newbery, but it does look a lovely profile, and certainly works for him! :D

He said in interview it was very heavy and perfect for slogging. May be 2 Kgs?
-
I remember he changed his bat in the last over probbaly for a heavier weight to clear the boundary.
-
Haha! Wow all the Indians like heavy bats!! Any reason behind that?
-
doesnt he use 2lb 13 normally.. how heavy was this bat then? also are those youth size gloves?

Slow and low decks in the sub continent, you want to get good value for what you middle!

Dhoni did visit Gary at Spyder whilst over here for the ICC Champions Trophy and picked a couple of bats up off him, it COULD be one of those, does look similar to the bats Gary had in when we went.
Also picked up a Dhoni bat when I was there, weighed in at 2.10 and was huge for the weight!!
I think that bloke could bat with a snooker cue though.

It must be heavier than he usually uses as he mentioned that he changed his bat for the last over.
From cricinfo commentary
The opposition bowler was not the most experienced in that last over unlike Malinga, so I thought i would take my chances. I went with a heavy bat, the weight was perfect for slogging.
