We have just finished our days play here in Brisbane in the Winter Warehouse competition (no, we don't play in warehouses but the term comes from the warehouse workers that started the comp many years ago), playing at Albany Creek. This club has two grounds, both synthetic. We are in quite an arm wrestle for first innings points in our game but on the second field, one team were dismissed for around 100. The home teams opening batsman came out and his first over went something like 6,4,6,2,6,6. His ton came up in 31 balls and he ended up getting out for 259 off 69 balls. This was a B3 competition and it turns out the big hitter plays 2nd grade... The team declared for 300. Typical day in Winter Warehouse!

Our winter cricket involves sports halls and sub zero temperatures outside :(

It was entertaining to see such clean big hitting but I was just really glad to be merely a spectator!

I used to be. Played for Pirates in the winter comp and then grade cricket on the sunshine coast in summer. Down in NSW now but will be back in QLD for the cricket season just not sure where yet!

I played in the WCA a couple a years ago and trained at the Valley District cricket club.
I might go there again for the 2014 season..
