where did you find that ?
Sorry pressed post before I had written the text.
I found this tonight when my wife asked my to take some garden rubbish to the tip. I tried to get out of it but she can be very persuasive my wife so I went and thank god I did. I saw the handle hanging out the top of the wood section and thought that looks like a cricket bat. My eyes almost fell out when I saw it was a genuine GM players Icon. It has a split in the toe and possible delaminates face but pings like mad and lovely pick up. Gonna see what Mr Kember can do with this and see if I can salvage it.
-
hopefully you'll be selling that beauty
-
That is sweet!
I'm sure it can be repaired
-
they are always right aren't they.
-
That's the 2nd GM that's been found in a skip within the last couple of months...
How very strange! You've got yourself a belter there pal by the looks of things.
My money on an ex chucking some blokes gear out. Even the average villager will know what that's worth and that anything is worth a repair

I live close to places like Hartlet, Tumbridge wells, sevonoaks etc where money is no object. These guys would use these as net bats, seen a cenkos at One of the tunbridge grounds a year or 2 back i seem to remember? It may be that the bat is completely knackered but I will get some expert advice from Mr Kember. Worse case sceniro a get a free grip :D
-
Dam, when I see things like this I wish I was patroling a skip at night. Once when I was sorting put my house a chap was throwing a new laptop in the skip with its box due to a cracked screen, unlucky for me it went to one of the workers.....
-
*Mental note..........frequent the tip more often
-
Just spent a few minutes tapping this up with an old ball and I really doesn't sound good about 6 inches up from toe and all the way across. Sounds very Tinny. Looks like de-laminated. Probably why it's in the skip as from my knowledge very little an be done with that.
-
Get he scuffy off and let us all see!
-
Not at all fair

Good spot now we talk of bargains chris that's the real deal

Honestly mate just caught my eye and was really shocked. Although I do think she is dead and beyond repair
-
I have a Trott players and they are high quality bats!!
Great find!! Just patch her up and use her as your net bat ;)
-
These people chucking their bats into skips clearly aren't members on here, you'd never catch us committing such a crime. You lucky git
-
HAHA wow what a bat! Just a quick refurb and its good as new =)
-
So it's a well used players bat that looks nice, but is mostly dead. Perhaps not quite such a lucky boy?

Get Salix to buff it up + eBay = Profit I'd imagine.

Not if its dead mate, that's just not cricket. I know many would buy if it was in the skip for a reason like its dead then I will cut the dead bit off and have the most expensive fielding bat in Kent.
-
Looks like it should be OK, if you ask me, unless there's a crack that i cant see. the face does not look that bad, so if it is tinny, it ,might be a crack.
I found the other GM, do we need to start a new part of the forum - "GM's from the Bin" ??
-
On the 3rd picture you will see a crack that runs across the blade, that is the one that is causing me some concern.
-
Is there any chance this could be up for swaps chris
-
How much does this bat weigh?
-
No idea mate I would guess about 2.10 quite a light pick up
-
I went to the tip yesterday to get rid of some stuff, had a cheeky look in the wood section but no joy..
-
Is this for sale ;)
-
What ended up happening with this bat, was it dead?
-
You lucky devil

Currently stripped down and awaiting a full refurb. I have emailed GM asking them to send some stickers to Salix to put on after the refurb. God knows if they will oblige.

@SOULMAN1012 How did this turn out after a refurb?
